Chevin Calloway

Chevin is gone, they pulled his scholly. He was basically already gone prior to Eno's departure when listening to Kakert and others. The coaches seemed to know that. This is just my assumption, but I think Eno was probably 50/50 especially when you see that he visited two schools when he knew the coaches would be upset about it. He may not of made up his mind but he was obviously thinking about it.

Now if the reason for Chevin and Eno getting cold feet is the coach's basically ignoring them during the season, then that has to change whether the coaches like it or not. They may not like it but that's the way these kids are being recruited by other schools. So in comparison it makes Iowa look like they're not trying as hard and really....they're not.

This is precisely the reason Iowa needs a full-time recruiting coordinator with no coaching duties. Until that happens there'll be more Eno's and Calloway's.

Over the years I've read the following at Rivals - Scout - 247 - Hawkeyenation and other places.

"Kirk doesn't like recruiting. His team is lazy when compared to several other programs."

Here's the thing for those of you who have followed recruiting like myself. How many times have you read a story where a recruit went elsewhere because the contact between the coaches and the recruit basically stopped after the recruit gave his verbal???? For myself I have read that many times over the years. Kirk and company seem to think recruiting stops once a kid gives a verbal.

You know what BB once said, "For me recruiting doesn't start until the kid has given his verbal to someone else."
Kirk doesn't know how to market the program. He comes from the prehistoric school of recruiting. He only wants to have to do so much and he doesn't want to have to do it. He sucks and so does his staff. I mean it's only the lifeblood of your program but who cares.

Funny because we lose kids before we get them in and even when they've been here for a season or two. I don't know if it's a personality thing, an enthusiasm thing. Whatever perhaps he should hire someone that is a professional recruiter.

Wow, I thought they did. Although it did sound like Calloway would of liked to of talked to his position coach specifically. I know there's not a lot of time during the season but maybe stay on top of the hand full of 4 star recruits they do have. That's only a few phone calls a week that could go a long way.
