"It was weird, to be honest. I have the head coaches at Arkansas and Ole Miss calling me weekly, and we can't even get my position coach at Iowa to get on the phone with me. A lot of the Iowa fans are mad at me for taking these visits, but they don't understand what is going on behind the scenes. I mean, I told coach Woods about the situation and week after week went by without ever hearing from them. How am I supposed to take that? Coach Woods said they couldn't read my mind but they still never got in contact with me. I don't know. You want to go where you feel wanted."

Over the years I've read the following at Rivals - Scout - 247 - Hawkeyenation and other places.

"Kirk doesn't like recruiting. His team is lazy when compared to several other programs."

Here's the thing for those of you who have followed recruiting like myself. How many times have you read a story where a recruit went elsewhere because the contact between the coaches and the recruit basically stopped after the recruit gave his verbal???? For myself I have read that many times over the years. Kirk and company seem to think recruiting stops once a kid gives a verbal.

You know what BB once said, "For me recruiting doesn't start until the kid has given his verbal to someone else."

So you obviously have not read the multiple sources that state his family does not want him attending Iowa, not because of this but because they just don't want him going to Iowa.

Some pretty pointed things being said there by Calloway geez... That's rough because why would he say it? He can't be butt hurt over anything beyond that can he? He's got his pick of the litter basically for where he could go. Iowa's coaches better really start buckling down because damage control for them out on the recruiting trail can't be a fun way for them to try doing their job.

If he's not gone already, he will be after the other visits per Iowa's policy.

Chevin is gone, they pulled his scholly. He was basically already gone prior to Eno's departure when listening to Kakert and others. The coaches seemed to know that. This is just my assumption, but I think Eno was probably 50/50 especially when you see that he visited two schools when he knew the coaches would be upset about it. He may not of made up his mind but he was obviously thinking about it.

Now if the reason for Chevin and Eno getting cold feet is the coach's basically ignoring them during the season, then that has to change whether the coaches like it or not. They may not like it but that's the way these kids are being recruited by other schools. So in comparison it makes Iowa look like they're not trying as hard and really....they're not.

If the coaches pulled their scholarships they are dumb. Simple as that.

Your last sentence couldn't be more true

It is dumb. They needed to try and repair the relationship rather than just move on. The kid committed to Iowa so he obviously did want to come. It's a scary decision for a kid and it's the coach's jobs to keep making that kid feel like he made the right choice.

Young kids are selfish to say that "he may not of made up his mind but he was obviously thinking about it" I think may be a stretch. Could simply be "I want to be a Hawk, but this visit could be a blast". As we all know kids are focused more on "me" and "the now" than they are on "others" and "the future". There isn't a doubt in my mind that he could easily have gone into the visit(s) simply looking for a good time as opposed to thinking that he was having second thoughts about his commitment to Iowa.

Agree 100%. I think in this case the coaches may have made him feel that decommitting was the right/only choice.

Inexcusable, Iowa staff.
100% inexcusable.
