Charlie Moore scores 38

I already pointed it out. You said he should have recruited over Gesell (who was one of the top players on the team) but he shouldn't have recruited over Jok, Baer, and Cook because they were top players on the team. That makes no sense.

I never said he shouldn't recruit over anyone just saying you should try to focus on recruiting over your weaknesses

He never makes sense, and he has two sets of rules, same as it ever was.

I wasn't really around much for vintagehawk? Was he always that bad at thinking things thru?

Yep, It isn't that he can't think, it is that he is so rigid in his thinking, so small minded and not open to any other thoughts, ideas, or believes.......If you think he is rigid about PG and his own "no visit" policy, he was 100x as bad with politics. Just think of a cross between Bernie Sanders and Marx, something like that, but less flexible in ideology than those two.

Well that describes 5656 pretty well so maybe it is him.

The PG position has always been a weakness with Fran and I'm afraid this year will be the worst it's ever been
Point guard wasn't necessarily our weakness the last 4 years. It could have been better, just like everywhere else, but it wasn't a weakness.

I disagree, we've had all conference wings and posts but no PG

So Fran is a failure because he hasn't has a 1st or 2nd team all conference player at pg? Those 1st teamers weren't great recruiting gets so I don't see how you can say he's so much better at recruiting those positions. He really pulled a recruiting coup stealing White away from power houses. He didn't even find Marble. And unless there were recruiting violations, he did no convincing of Uthoff to come to Iowa. So I ask again, how is he better at recruiting those positions? Since Woody greward up a huge hawk fan, I would say Gesell is Fran's best recruiting score outside of Cook. How is it possible you don't comprehend this?

Yes they were, Aaron White was a much better recruiting get than Gesell. Look at their production. Fran doesn't work for Rivals or 247, his job is to bring in the most talent

Says the guy who constantly talks about rankings.

Yeah that's really what you can judge a recruit on before they come here, rankings and offers. After a large enough sample size of D1 basketball you can throw rankings out the window

Even tho you talk about Williams being a low ranked recruit all the time. So since Fran did a good job of finding White (a kid no one wanted so the battle was essentially over as soon as he found him) do you think he is good at spotting under the radar posts but bad at spotting under the radar point guards? Maybe he's too good at spotting under the radar point guards because they keep ending up too good to want to come to iowa. If only Fran had the exact right ability to find point guards who are just good enough to be all conference but not good enough to get other offers. He just needs a little less ability to spot point guard talent to be good at recruiting them.

Because Williams has done nothing to prove he's good on the court so when people talk about him with high expectations it confuses me because nobody wanted him. White had offers from Northwestern, Temple and Boston College. It's not like Williams who had nothing and signed in the Spring
