You can improve on defense. It's a commitment. You have to choose to work your tail off on the defensive end, knowing that you might not have the energy for the offensive end. That's the reality for players that aren't good enough athletically. Not too many players want to do that, because they want to score. It's hard work being a good defender at the P5 level. And it's the kind of hard work that won't show up in the stat sheets.So, how do you improve at defense? How did someone like McIntosh get better? Is that same potential (on a lesser scale) possible for a player like Bohannon? I am not saying he will become as good, but he can improve (along with the rest of team). You basically have said JBo is bad at defense and he won't improve much. How do you know that? If his teammates improve defensively, his own rating will improve all by itself (we know this from the DRate calculation).
