Call me a Sunshine Pumper

So, how do you improve at defense? How did someone like McIntosh get better? Is that same potential (on a lesser scale) possible for a player like Bohannon? I am not saying he will become as good, but he can improve (along with the rest of team). You basically have said JBo is bad at defense and he won't improve much. How do you know that? If his teammates improve defensively, his own rating will improve all by itself (we know this from the DRate calculation).
You can improve on defense. It's a commitment. You have to choose to work your tail off on the defensive end, knowing that you might not have the energy for the offensive end. That's the reality for players that aren't good enough athletically. Not too many players want to do that, because they want to score. It's hard work being a good defender at the P5 level. And it's the kind of hard work that won't show up in the stat sheets.

The forums were so much better when we wouldn't allow 56 to derail everything. He will stop posting a million times a day if he doesn't get any replies. I'll just ignore him if he talks to himself all the time.

Yep. To say someone can't improve on the defensive end is silly. Jordan is never going to be a good defender, but I could see him not being a liability any longer and becoming an average defender.

Yet then again, I told myself this about Peter Jok as well. I really thought he could do it, and it is just so darn disappointing that he never did become better on the defensive side of the ball.

So I'm starting to get the feeling you don't like Bohannon?

Umm, do you know Bohannon can't create off the dribble and isn't a very good defender? Also, he is white and lacks athleticism. I thought I would be helpful and let you know all this just in case you missed it, because 5656 has never alluded to it whatsoever.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the arthritis in his one knee makes it difficult to play good defense on the perimeter. I have arthritis in my knee from an ACL replacement/patellar graft and it slowed that knee's ability to react quickly. My only saving grace was that my legs were in extremely good shape when I tore it. And that's pretty minor surgery compared to what Jok had. I couldn't imagine what my knee would be like after having gone as long as he did with his knee shut down, basically. There was a reason why so many college coaches backed off recruiting him. It's tough to come back from that type of knee problem.
It's just speculation on my part, of course but it's something I have some experience with.

So you're equally upset if we lose to Omaha or Illinois at home or if we lose to a top 25 team at home?

That has nothing to do with what you said. You said we should never lose to Omaha and Illinois at home. Are you saying upsets should never happen or that we are so night and day better than them that it should be impossible to lose?
