Why is IL even there anymore? That was a really bad loss for them, worse than what the Hawks would take with PSU (but thats not gonna happen). IL=out of equation without a 3 game win streak in the BTT.

So pissed at bubble teams today. Rhode Island just won in overtime. If them, Vandy, usc, and wake forest would have all lost today, we could be projected in before the Big 10 tournament even tips off. I think we are going to have to win 3 in the tourney now. It's tough to pass teams after the regular season.
 
Illinois losing today helped, especially to Rutgers. Think 10-8 in Big10 conference and winning a game in the BTT will get us in. Hawks need to finish strong.
 
Agree with Illinois loss...committees are made up of people...who want to impress the big money conferences with lots of selections...in spite of the fact they say conferences don't matter.

Key losses by our conference competitors along with a win or two is the ticket...
 
Win tomorrow against the Nittany Lions, win the first game in the BigTournament, and we should be in, perhaps depending on a solid performance in our second round game in the BT.....

We should have a strong 4 game winning streak, including two wins on the road at Maryland and Wisconsin, add a first round win in the BT makes it a 5 game winning streak......

Of all the teams in the Big Tournament I do not want to play Minnesota. They are one of the hottest and strongest teams in college basketball. We certainly owe them, but I would rather take revenge next season at Carver.....

Looks like Purdue in first place.....14-4 or 13-5

Maryland and Wisconsin/Minnesota in second place.....12-6

Wisconsin/Minnesota and NW with a win at Purdue would be tied in third place.....11-7

That would make the Hawks in a four way tie in fourth place, depending on a win at Carver, a Michigan win at Nebraska and a NW loss at Purdue.....10-8

We will have an identical overall and conference record with the Spartans at 10-8 and 18-13.....

If the Minnesota steal carries some weight with the committee, we should be in based on our Big regular season record. One win in the Big Tournament should seal the deal.....

I will be shopping for dancing shoes tommorow after the victory at Carver over the Nittany Lions......

Spare me the MN love please. One of the strongest teams in college basketball?? Um, no. Hot in the conf, yes, but heck we had those fools beat in their own dumpy barn. Sign me up FOR the Goofers please. Would be just the RPI bump we need when we pay them back.

I have never had love for the gophers and never will

Lot of teams would rather not play the gophers right now.....

I'd much rather play Minnesota than Wisconsin in the btt. The gophers are solid, no doubt, but Iowa should have won that game and Iowa would get a better RPI boost by beating the gophers
 
We will probably play Michigan (seems like we almost always play Michigan) in the BTT. I am not confident we can beat them, given our terrible BTT history.

Playing Wisconsin, Maryland, Purdue, or Minnesota in the 3rd round has the same impact on our RPI.
