The problem is they have to take someone else's spot so teams ahead need to lose first round.

Coming up at the halftime of Big South championship (Campbell vs. Winthrop) on ESPN2, we will look at Iowa's chances for the NCAA tournament (playing Penn State). I'm starting to really like the Hawkeyes resume with road wins over Maryland, Wisconsin and wins over Purdue and Michigan. Iowa could end up making a late surge for a bid.

They are both in.
Might want to read Palm's view. Neither team has wins of any sort of quality. Loser is likely OUT (esp. if it is IL State)

Won't be a problem, if we win 2 More we will be in.
I am in complete agreement with this now. One of the two would be an RPI booster.
Go 1-1 and we sweat next Sunday.

He's wrong, Illinois State is a lock since they reached the finals of the MVC Tourney.

Why would I listen to you? You said we would finish in the top half of the conference. Oh wait....

Illinois State has ONE rpi top 50 win and 2 rpi top 100 wins. How the eff are they a lock?

In just two days, IL is in much shattier shape than Iowa right now. They will need to win at LEAST to the title game to be considered. Iowa is probably lock if they make the semis. Think about it, committee not putting in IL which finished two games behind Iowa in the reg season. Yes I know IU got in over us way back when, when they finished one game behind us. Different story this season. I think IL is toast.

No fixing needed, they get an at large if they don't win today.
Not after getting blown out by 20+ points like they are now. Not competitive and they are out my friend. Which helps the Hawks funny you want to will in a non deserving team over our own.

Yesterday I would have said they are close to a lock. I've watched them a couple times and they do have the look of a tournament team even though their quality wins are lacking.
After today's egg-laying I think they are 50/50 -- which means waiting to see what other bubbles do.
I think the door swung a little wider open for Iowa.
