Bruce Pearl Steps Down

Pretty surprising, especially at the time of the year he chose to do it.
He picked the perfect time right as practice is starting so that Auburn would all but have to hire his kid to replace him..... Evidently Auburn is totally cool with it and gave his kid a 5 yr deal with him having zero HC experience at any level. He's only assisted for his dad. Hell even KF had his kid go coach for Jordan Hudsons bf for a few yrs before bringing him on. So take that for nepotism.

I just wonder with the 30 day transfer portal that opens up for his players I wonder if Ben has his eye on poaching any of em... Needless to say they have some good players worth going after and I'm sure their phones are blowing up.

The piece that I read just said his kid would take over for this year. So yes, the timing makes sense if he got five years.

Wish he could have found his way back to Iowa City at some point after Davis. Pretty sure he said he wouldn’t but he cherished his time here.
