This was the "bump" that occurred and most feel this will go away when they go in front of the infractions committee. This happens all the time, Nick Saban is the master of it. They didn't report it because it shouldn't have been a violation and probably won't be.
Are you really linking ILLINOIS sites for info on Pearl? Yeah, no bias there!
I don't even have to read them to know what they'd be saying.
Yes, but he didn't report it to the appropriate people at Tennessee. Tennessee officials did not find out about the alleged violation until the NCAA notified them of the additional violation. Tennessee couldn't report the violation because they didn't know about the violation. You can't defend this scumbag.
I would take Pearl and Forbes at Iowa in a heartbeat.
That's of course because I'm a fan of winning basketball games.
Let's not get carried away with him "cheating." He lied about a recruit (who was verbally committed to play at Tennessee at the time) being at a barbeque at his house. That is why he was fired. This would've been a slap on the wrist but he made a bonhead move and lied. But let's not make it look like he was paying players and taking SAT's for them.
I wouldn't. I'd hope that Iowa wouldn't touch him with a 10-foot pole as much as he's cheated.
And my oh my aren't we a bit cynical? I'm sure programs look at ways to bend rules but 90-100% cheat?
lollipops and rainbows might not bring recruits to sign but working your butt off like Fran appears to be doing just might.

I'm linking Illinois sites because the Iowa media never reported the facts in the matter. The Iowa media just ignored the whole situation.
It is Illini-fan Tate simply taking Thomas's lawyers ''statements'' as some kind of rock solid evidence of wrong-doing on Pearl's part, while the poor pure as driven snow Jimmy Collins was railroaded by a vindictive NCAA compliance committee....
More of the same from Illini fans who cannot bring themselves to accept that the NCAA did an investigation and found that an illini booster car dealer was giving illini players cars without requiring a credit check or any payments until they signed pro contracts....you know, minor stuff like that.
No, none of these NCAA findings are credible, while Thomas' s attorney is the final workd....right!!
Bruce is no angel either, tho, and I am glad Iowa stayed away this time.
Not so. The 'bump' is/was a violation and nobody at Tennessee thinks it is going away since the NCAA has already documented it as part of their case against Pearl and subsequently the Tennessee program. You're dead wrong on that one. Prior to that there were some in the Tennessee community that were willing to see what the NCAA was going to do before making a final decision on Pearl. But, once this latest violation ocurred, the Tennessee Chancellor shut off access to those who wanted to have some say and supported Pearl. His thinking was that those who thought Tennessee could 'ride this thing out' were not really appraised of the situation adequately. There is a 50/50 chance that the NCAA will slap a show-cause on Pearl. If so, he'll never be employed by an NCAA member institution again.Scumbag? Good lord. They don't have to report it to anyone because it isn't a violation. Tennessee coaches and officials all feel that this charge will go away, like I said before.
Illinois should fire Weber and hire Pearl.

I'm not dead wrong. I know for a fact that Tennessee admin and coaches feel strongly that they will argue successfully that was a bump and not impermissable contact and have that charge removed.

Yeah, & the people on the Titantic thought the ship was unsinkable. You can't read. The fact that the charge maybe removed is irrelevant. What you don't seem to understand is that the Tennessee officials didn't know of the alleged violation until the NCAA brought it to their attention.

my reading is fine and what I'm saying again is that Pearl had no reason to report it because he didn't believe it to be a violation, which is what they will prove to be the case.
