Nope, didn't see that one coming. But with 1 bowl in 8 seasons, getting them back to a bowl is good for his case.

Just no way that Iowa drops to the Quick Lane or the Pinstripe. Iowa is in either the Citrus, Holiday, or Gator.
I don't think they can play in the Gator.

How come? They haven't played in that bowl in I don't know how long.
Iowa is going to the Citrus. I would say to play Auburn. That is because Baylor and Utah haven't beaten anyone this year and even though they made their championship games they wont make the NY6. So by default, after the CFP of OSU, LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma and the 2 gifts of UVA and Memphis, Oregon to the Rose for winning the conference, that really only leaves these 5 teams for the 5 spots.

The only thing that could happen is that one of the B1G teams goes to the Orange which kicks out the Citrus, but that will not happen because of the weakness of the ACC and nobody wants to see a non top 25 team make a NY6 bowl.

I actually do think Indiana could jump Iowa for the Gator Bowl since Iowa just played there in 2015.
But since Illinois has been announced for the Red Box that must mean Iowa isn’t going to slip that far.
