Bo Pelini is a real POS

I read the article and the reporter went to Bo Pelini's press conference after the team had played terrible. Anyone with common sense would know that his answers are going to be in the form of barking or yelling or something else. Seriously after seeing how he acts don't act surprised when he does it again. I am not condoning what he does or says I am just saying don't be surprised when the lion kills a gazelle, that is what it does. Just like Pelini acts like this when things don't go well...duh, deal.

Well, exactly. This isn't a huge deal, but just one of those little classless incidents that seem to accumulate and define Pelini.

Ask yourself this, can you imagine Ferentz or Tressel or JoePa handling the situation this way?

But at the end of the day, I'm just glad Sarkisian and Pelini got a couple of sailors down on the sidelines. That part of the story is plain cool. Check out the Nebby jersey with the ship's name on the back - nice touch.

I agree Ferentz/Tressel/JoePa/etc wouldn't handle it this way. Really they wouldn't try and one up the other coach by making that comment but we know this is how Pelini acts so don't act surprised when he does it.

I don't necessarily find the reporter completely innocent. She can't take offense to the fact that Pelini "barked" at her. That's to be expected from him after a game like that. But he could just as easily have barked that it's stupid to go through with that in a game like that. That's a pretty obvious answer to the question, nobody would find anything wrong with it (including the sailor, as mentioned in the story), and nobody would really have an issue with him "barking" at her.

But saying it was a joke, and saying it like it should have been obvious (when it clearly wasn't to his staff or players, much less anyone else), is ridiculous. Just because it's something he would do doesn't mean people should just let it go.

Not sure what they had to lose. The whole state wants the Off Coord fired. His play would have been one of only 46 others that went nowhere.

Pelini is a POS, but not necessarily because of this.

That.

I know that a great deal of posters here grew up from the DM area and east. Once you get west of Adair, you grow up understanding that there are many POS associated with that program and Nebby fans are the bran muffins that keep it all flowing.

A little?

If this is the kind of thing that gets everybody's panties in a bunch, well, I guess the recession really must be over.

It isn't this one thing that makes people look at Pelini as an ***. It is the combination of things he has done over the past three seasons. If this was the only thing it wouldn't have been a big deal, cuz if Ferentz or Paterno did this people would have just said, oh there wasn't really a chance for them to do it since they were losing.

It also makes it a little worse because the guy was a die hard fan serving in the military waiting to deploy to a war. If it was just a average joe with no connections to nebraska had been told that it wouldn't have mattered.

At least Cornhusker fans know what their coach is and can live with it.

As a person that lives on the west side of the state, I will attest that this quote is very accurate.

Gosh I love this rivalry already. The key ingredient to any great rivalry is pure hatred. I think it is safe to assume that key ingredient already exists.;)

I agree that what he did was classless and stupid, which seems to be habitual with the guy. I just think peoples' outrage meters need a little calibrating.

Osborne will do right by this kid and his family.

I agree with those who think that this is way overblown. Was it something stupid for Pelini to do, absolutely. It seems to me that what happened is either he was trying to one-up Sarkisian and never meant for the guy to call a play, or the game didn't go how he expected, and flat out forgot.

What this really is is Bo not having very good media presence. If he forgot, he forgot, just say it. I think everyone would have understood, given the circumstances. But saying it was a joke (whether it was meant to be or not) made him look bad. Will the program make it up to him, not sure, but rumor has it that he might just get to be on the field for the OSU-NU game next fall.

I'm not sure if any of you heard or saw the press conference, but Bo, did not, under any circumstance "bark" at this reporter. He was as subdued and contrite as I have ever seen Bo. Hell, he looked and sounded like someone just stole his puppy, and even joked that the sailor couldn't have done any worse than "we" did.

That being said, about 90% of Nebraska fans probably think that the sailor could have done a better job than Watson, lol.

Have you ever even been outside of the region? You are the perfect example of everything that is wrong with Nebraska fans. You fail to acknowledge your own program's short comings. I think you will find most Iowa fans, while disappointed with the past season are still proud of how the team showed up and played hard in their bowl game. We understand that MNC trophies aren't to be expected every decade much less every season. We have other interests and can understand that the happiness of our lives should not be dictated by 18 to 22 year old young adults.

How many Nebraska football players does it take to change a light bulb? Just one- he holds the bulb and the entire state revolves around him.

There is fiber in those words.

even fat charlie let a sick kid call the first play when Notre Dame played.........someone (I forget) a few years ago. The play he called wasn't ideal for the situation they were in but he ran it regardless. Pelini is an *** for not doing the same, what's the worst that could've happened? Oh noes, it goes for a pick 6 and they get embarassed worse than they already did
