Blind Resume

I will post who the teams are in a couple of hours. Please try and refrain from guessing/stating who you think the teams are.

There's a reason teams are in the top 25. They're hard to beat.

Just like there's a reason teams are on the bubble. They're not as good as teams in the top 25.

There are only 37 at large bids. If you can't beat teams in the top 25 or top 50 you should not be in the tournament.

Team A
Record: 16-9 (5-5)
RPI: 29
SOS: 13
vs. Top 25: 1-2
vs. 26-50: 0-2

Team B
Record: 18-9 (7-5)
RPI: 59
SOS: 39
vs. Top 25: 0-6
vs. 26-50: 2-1

How does the team who plays 9 top 50 teams (6 against the top 25)have an SOS far below the team who plays 5 against the top 50?

Thats a great question, didnt even notice that. It would be nice if the OP would come back and tell us whos who so we can put it in perspective.

Here is the consensus order of the teams (D,A,C,B)

Team D: Northern Iowa
Record: 17-12 (7-9)
RPI: 63
SOS: 35
vs. Top 25: 0-3
vs. 26-50: 3-1

Team A: Colorado State
Record: 16-9 (5-5)
RPI: 29
SOS: 13
vs. Top 25: 1-2
vs. 26-50: 0-2

Team C: Northwestern
Record: 16-10 (6-8)
RPI: 37
SOS: 7
vs. Top 25: 1-5
vs. 26-50: 1-3

Team B: NC State
Record: 18-9 (7-5)
RPI: 59
SOS: 39
vs. Top 25: 0-6
vs. 26-50: 2-1

It's interesting that the team most thought was deserving (Northern Iowa) is not even in discussion for an at-large bid right now. The second most deserving team (Colorado State) is in the "Next Four Out" section of Joe Lunardi's bracketology. Northwestern is in Lunardi's bracket, and NC State is in the "First Four Out."

I still don't see any reason why Colorado state should be in.

Neither do I. They have played a fairly tough schedule (Southern Miss, @ UNI, @ Duke, plus UNLV, San Diego St, and New Mexico), but have just one stand out win against SDSU. Nothing that warrants a bid IMO.

However, the same could be said for NC St. Best wins are Texas and Miami FL.

unless they come back from 16 down to UNC, you can chalk up another L for NC State. Stick a fork in them while you're at it...

Quality vs Quantity?

1 win vs Top 25...could be a top 15 team, maybe even a top 10 or top 5.

Compared to UNI with 3 wins b/w 26-50. Blind, it could be two wins against 45 and a win against 49.

This is what makes blind resumes tough.

Well they just beat New Mexico, so that helps Colorado State a ton...
