Big Ten West (Recruiting)

Im not arguing with you that the hawkeye recruits are better than Nebraskas or that we should be satisfied with the current results. In fact I think the Hawks class will be at a pedestrian 50ish rank if we dont land a few more big recruits. (Luckily Iowa is in the position to be picky with these last commitments because our class is already filling up). Just pointing out that you will post anything to make Iowa look bad. Clearly you looked it up as you cited the 247 Chrystal ball as your favorite website to base recruiting rankings and still posted misleading stats. I understand you want to troll but if you are going to be so sloppy and obvious dont get butthurt when you get called out.

He clearly lies to try to make his point. I mean he tries to sell 7 out of 16 as "more than half". Yet he looks at Wisconsin class and doesn't seem to think that 5 out of 12 is a big deal.

Everyone want to recruit better. I wish that Iowa would have top 25 ranked classes. A big part of the reason that our classes have been in he low 50's the last two years is we have had some small classes....yet now when we have a big class and see how that give you a ratings bump, people wanna b1tch still.

Right now there are just some fans out there that will want to complain about everything. I complained a lot about how painful Iowa FB was last year. But KF seems to be sticking to his word, and I'm hoping there is some new energy in the program. As mad as I was last year and ready to be done with KF, I'm still going to cheer for him to come out and win football games and prove us all wrong. I would rather be wrong and have Iowa be good then be right and have Iowa suck. I'm not sure everyone around here feels the same way.

I agree, I was very sick of the sunshine pumpers when there is certainly cause for concern. But I am equally tired of the fans spewing hate and unable to look at things rationally. Im not even just talking about message board posters. I have friends and family members that seem to think this coaching staff cannot do anything right, even when good things happen. But it is offseason and I cannot blame people for being pessimistic until they see improvements on the field. I think fans are wrong if they cant see a difference in the style of recruiting this year. It is much more aggressive and the new position on the staff specializing in recruiting is noticeable. I just think the biggest problem is that this didnt start 4 or 5 years ago when Iowa was coming off some good seasons and had some momentum. But better late than never.

The days of Tom Osborne roaming the sidelines and living off of prop 48 illiterates are long, long gone. This ain't the 80's or even the 90's. That train wreck of a head coach they have now, doesn't scare anyone.
Have you ever heard him speak? My God......CREEPY. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to play for that guy.

edit: talking about Riley here

I have documented how only 7 of 12 Wisconsin commits have P5 offers, compared to 9 of 16 for Iowa. Lets look all the other schools outside of the blue bloods and MSU in the B1G that are fighting for spots 6-11 in the B1G recruiting rankings. All of these are per Rivals, and I'm sure I mistake or two somewhere in here...so give me a +/- one player per team possibly.

7 of 16 Iowa commits have zero other P5 offers

5 of 12 Wisconsin commits have zero other P5 offers

3 of 14 jNW commits has zero other P5 offers

5 of 12 Maryland commits have zero other P5 offers. Should actually be 6 of 12, as they have a 4* with zero other P5 offers, but I didn't count him.

5 of 13 Rutgers commits have zero other P5 offers

5 of 11 Minnesota commits have zero other P5 offers

This is the group of teams that Iowa ideally would beat in recruiting rankings. Right now there is simply no challenging the blue bloods or MSU recruiting wise. So basically all of these teams are getting roughly the same % of kids with ZERO other P5 offers. The staffs are getting different kids on campus at camps, evaluating, offering, and getting commitments. Heck the staffs would PREFER that these kids that they KNOW deserve a D1 P5 scholarship not camp other places, take their scholarship and end their recruitment. That is the whole freaking point of offering them.
