We're 5 or 6 right now from what I've seen. I think we are a 4 tops but three wins over MSU would impress.

This morning Palm has Iowa at a 6 seed and Purdue at a 4. Anyone else having a problem with that besides me? Either we're too low or Purdue is too high imo. PU's only 4-3 in their last 7 games. Not exactly tearing it up.

25-9 mark got that 05-06 team a #3 seed in Michigan. It is probably not enough to keep Indiana or MSU out of Des Moines as a #3 seed. However, #3 would be in play for Spokane, Denver and Providence.....Let me think about this and post later I think i am screwing up the pod rules.

Agree with others. That win was huge last night for so many reasons. In terms of the BTT, getting to the 5 seed at worst means we avoid MSU & Wisky for as long as possible. MSU has a score to settle with us and Wisky wants to break out the peach baskets and play a football game. I'm good with playing anyone else.

St Louis is closer than Des Moines for Sparty.
Selfishly, I know I can get our of work 1 afternoon to watch the hawks. Skipping work 2 days in a row may be tough. Saving vacation for the big tourney.
That 1-3-1 defense scares me. I was glad to see Michigan get back to man-to-man. It may have shown other teams (Purdue) a weakness. Would like a rested Iowa team play a tired Purdue.

If Iowa was to beat Purdue (or Maryland), Indiana and Michigan State in the BTT I think they could absolutely climb to a 3. If they get a 3 seed I think Des Moines is a lock. If they get a 4 seed they'd need to get seeded ahead of Indiana/Purdue.
I think right now Iowa's ceiling is a 3 and floor is a 6.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. If Iowa wins the BTT, I'd think a 3 seed is pretty likely. Honestly, 4-5 seems most realistic to me, maybe a 6 if Iowa loses on Thursday.
If the above scenario plays out with Iowa as the 4 seed, I definitely think that's as good a setup as we could ask for, though.

Then what do you do with Indiana? You can't put them in St. Louis if MSU is there. If you put Iowa in Des Moines then you are saying the committee will put 2 B1G teams in the same bracket as #2 and #3 seeds. They can't do that can they?

Yes they can both be in St Louis because there are 8 teams per site. 4 teams in 1 region and 4 teams in another. Just because they play at the same site doesn't mean they're in the same region.
But like I said, iowa probably needs to get seeded higher than indiana and purdue to get des moines

Realized what i posted after hitting submit St. Louis is the host in 2 different regions, Des Moines just 1. Based on the scenario PCHawk posted Purdue is a non-factor.

I obviously can't guarantee victory, but I like Iowa's chances of beating either Purdue or Maryland and making the semis for a likely 3rd shot at IU.. For all their talent, I just am not all that afraid of MD. Indiana looked like the far better team against them today.

Iowa is officially the 5 seed and will play the winner of minnesota and illinois on Thursday at 2:30pm.
It's just my opinion, but I'm rooting for purdue tonight...
If purdue beats wisconsin tonight:
If wisconsin beats purdue tonight:
Agreed IMO we want Purdue.
