Talking media day for basketball got me thinking. Which of the big four teams in iowa will have the best season? Not who has the most talent necessarily but who will have the deepest run. Im going with uni. They've got some good players coming back and have a great chance to win the Valley.

I think if you asked each fanbase they'd say their own school. It's a great thing for each school to be excited.

I will disagree with you though on UNI. I think they have a lot to prove this year like everybody else. They were a totally different team when lambchops went down last year. There is a reason they are preseason 4th in the valley, I'd be really surprised if they finished above Creighton or the Shockers.

As much as it pains me to say, I think ISU as well. If Hoiberg can keep them in line they will be a tough team to beat.

You make a very good point but the question was who would have the deepest run. That is independent of pre-season expectations.

the MVC will probably have more than one tourney team this year. i doubt if they finish top 3 in conference but theres always arch madness.

Very true. I think you will see PG by committee, including McGee, Allen, Sledge, Christopherson, and White, depending on the situation.

I think to Iowa St fans it will be a failure. They've somehow turned two completely average B10 guards and an MVC scrub into big time difference makers.

Royce White is the wildcard...if he is a beast they will be good

I agree. If ISU can find a consistent inside presence, they will be tough. There are a ton of shooters to kick out to this year.

Agreed and I think there's a good chance the kid is a beast and a top three player in the B12 this year.
