Big 12 gives MU and NU ultimatum with a deadline.

creeksider, why would Arkansas leave its SEC money for less money and a more unstable situation in the Big 12?

Arkansas set the demise of the SWC by packing for the SEC. They don't want to go backward. Also, while West Memphis is in Arkansas, there is no reason the Tennessee stations would move a cable Network to basic just to pick up a non-SEC Arkansas.

The Razorbacks are hoping to get a Texas school or two and deperately crossing their fingers for OSU to come to come to the SEC. I also have a couple of Razorback fan friends that have said they wouldn't mind Kansas.

However, I haven't heard any LSU fan that is very open to adding teams to the west unless it is the Longhorns. They see all options of picking up Big 12 leftovers as a step down. However, I think they could live with TAMU and TTECH, or one Texas school and OSU.

I agree. I was with some husker fans last night. It took all of 1 second for them to start talking about how NE would dominate the Big 10.

Living in Omaha, it is not worth it for the Huskers to be in the Big 10. It might be good for the conference, but it is not good for me.

Yea. Penn St thought they were going to come in & rule the league. I think since they joined they only have one outright Big10 championship & maybe a shared. Nebraska fans will soon figure out it isn't as easy as what they think

Welcome to a league that plays defense! The Big 12 has not been a defensive juggarnot the past few years. Remember when every team was scoring in the 40's a couple yrs ago. Yes, Nebby has a solid D under Pelini, but, the majority of the league does not. The Big 10 is a defensive league with many teams that pack very stout defenses. Ohio St, Iowa, Penn St, Mich St, Wisky, Northwestern etc. We will see how Nebby does playing againt stout D's on a weekly basis.

Again, Penn St thought they were going to take over when they joined & they have not.

I think if the Big 12 would add the right teams in good TV markets and evenly distribute the $ they could come close to the SEC payout and peel off some good programs. Arkansas? Memphis? Vandy? Even LSU?

The Big 12 better do something soon or the remaining members will be SOL.

Looks like there is something going on between the Big 10 and Nebby...

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne sent university chancellor Harvey Perlman a request through e-mail, also obtained through an open records request, on April 20 that stated: "I spent some time with Jim Tressel from Ohio State yesterday and think it would be a good idea if we met sometime soon regarding the expansion landscape."
