Bielema - ****** Bag or Major ****** Bag?

You can win with class...that's what great coaches do. Up 3-4 touchdowns and trying to score with less than a minute left is classless. You've proven your point...IMO you show respect to the team you just beat. I don't believe style points get you to the National Championship, beyond a dominating performance.
.

Part of a dominating performance is perceived in the final score. Oregon runs up the score on everyone and they are BCS darlings. The other thing is, if you look at Wisconsin's box score, they are doing it with backups. Their 83 point game last year, they had a lot of scores by back ups.

We are in a major conference as is Alabama, LSU, and Florida. I don't believe these teams think they need to score 70 to make a point or achieve the NC game. I've seen Miles, Saban, and Meyer back off in the fourth quarter of games that are well in hand. I know the SEC champion will be playing for the NC title...but an undefeated B10 team will also be right there in that type of consideration. Between Oklahoma and an Undefeated B10 school, most likely a toss up.

I get if the defense is so bad you can't help it...but I not sure this is the case in many of Wisconsin's big wins. It's Bret doing his thing and working on the big number.

I agree that any SEC team will make it and an undefeated Big 10 team may make it (although Iowa probably would not have had they gone undefeated in 09') and the Big 10's rep is dying.

The thing is with Wisconsin is they are scoring with their backups too. At some point, shouldn't you condemn the other Big Ten team's starters that can't stop another Big 10 team's backups instead of getting on a team like Wisconsin for scoring with them.

Serious question, did people get on Fry for putting up 50-60+ points on teams when he did? My guess is Bielema is emulating his college coach although I have no evidence to back that one up.

If what Fry did is different than what Bielema is doing at Wisconsin what is it?

On B1G teleconference, BTN tweeted "Bielema on similarities of WIS & NEB - both believe in running football, playing great defense, conducting themselves in first class manner"

Hmm....

1. Do you agree with this?
2. If you conduct yourself in a first class manner, do you tell other people that you "conduct yourself in a first class manner"?

I think that he was saying that he conducts himself in a first class manor in the same way that Pelini conducts himself in a first class manor - which is not at all.

Reminds me of a colleague from years ago who was fond of saying "what matters most to me is my integrity". The FBI arrested him later for embezzling from his wife's family.

People with class don't talk about having class.

I find myself rooting for all of the coaches from HF's coaching tree, past and present, except for BB. Honestly don't know why, but evidentally something in my pea brain doesn't like the guy for some reason.

You mean like he did when they levelled off ax little a couple of years ago?

I wasn't referring to one sub par season.

You take Bielema and his 2 and 3 bowl record and I'll take Ferentz's 6 and 3 and we'll both be happy?

I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't get why people love the stuff Matt Roth did but complain about what Bielema said to the Iowa State coach. The only difference that I can think of is that that Bielema is the head coach of Wisconsin. If he coached a non-Big 10 team I doubt anyone would dislike him or really care about him.

The color of the laundry is most important to a lot of fans.

False premise. Like many, I had a problem with what Bert did at ISU the minute I heard about it. And I winced at Roth's pre-bowl pep rally outburst, as did the coaches from what I've been told. I also don't recall Roth getting up in the face of a losing coach, but I could be wrong.

Your premise that I was referring to only you is also false.

Disagree with that statement. Pelini makes sure that his team goes to class, stays out of trouble, and does things by the book.

We can quibble about his sideline demeanor (which has gotten better this year) but when you say 'not at all', you are totally wrong.
