The Des Moines Register (aka, cyclone butt kisser) softened the blow for disappointed ISU fans by saying that Baylor was clearly better than their #12 ranking. Maybe, but...
their schedule has been laughable.

Woffard
Buffalo
Louisiana-Monroe
West Virginia (worst team they have had in years)
K-State (worst team since Snyder has returned)
ISU. (worst team in the Rhoads era)

Next up on their rugged journey: Kansas.

Also, how about ISU in year 5 of the Rhoads regime? Seems the seat should get a bit hotter for the $2,000,000 man at ISU.

Ferentz is on the hot seat at Iowa and rightly so, but in year 5, Ferentz went 8-0 in the BIG, won 11 games and played in the Orange Bowl. Compared to Rhoads, Ferentz looks pretty damn good.

.

But he has so much passion! ;)

As far as Baylor goes, I think you can say the same of a lot of teams. It is the middle of the season and the amount of meaningful games has been paltry. You talk about Baylor, but you could say the same about teams from the SEC and ACC. Only the SEC gets the benefit of the doubt by not dropping in the polls much when they lose to each other.

Baylor is one of the very few teams in a BCS conference that did not play another BCS conference team in their non-conference schedule.

Baylor is one of 4 teams in the Big XII that didn't play a team in any of the 5 major BCS conferences. Their SOS is hurt badly by the Wofford game, which was only scheduled in February after SMU canceled their game with Baylor because of their move to the AAC and an increased difficulty in schedule.

Ferentz did this in year 4. In year 5 Iowa went 10-3 and dismantled Florida in the Outback Bowl.

ISU fans love to compare Puaw's first years against Kirk's and for the first three, Pauw had the edge. Unfortunately for Pauw for him to continue matching Kirk he needed 11 wins last year and 10 this year, something I don't think will happen.

As stated, SMU gave Baylor the middle finger 6 months before the season. Also, they don't set their conference schedule. Just luck of the draw that they happen to start out playing the worst 4 teams in the conference.

I think you mean BCS AQ conference? Buffalo and ULM are technically BCS schools since they are in FBS.

Baylor is going to run the table due to the Little 12 being so weak this year. They will then go on to get a dose of reality in whatever BCS game they will play in - SOS will keep them out of the title game.

Yes, they were so unfortunate that the patsy they had originally scheduled had to cancel and had to schedule a worse patsy. I've got no problems with teams padding their win loss record by not scheduling anyone but don't start crying about it when you happen to find yourself in an unexpected undefeated run.

So similar to Ohio State a couple years ago?

And your point is what? SMU is just a few years removed from their death penalty.

SMU is no better than Wofford.

Yeah but Iowa State has #momentum. Iowa doesn't. That's what Cyclone fans are saying.
