"AQ conferences are sometimes called BCS conferences but that usage is not technically correct according to the BCS. These conferences are often referred to as power conferences especially for sports other than football."

The MAC under BCS' definition is a BCS conference, just not a power conference or AQ conference. Pretty simple isn't it?

It should be simple for everyone to understand. I hope you understand that you're the only one who flips **** about this. If you say BCS AQ conference, everyone knows what you mean; if you just say BCS conference, everyone still knows what you mean. If you say BCS conference when you're talking about basketball, people still know what you're trying to say. The wording is wrong but the communication is the same.

in summary: you're completely correct, but it just doesn't matter much.

Thank you for finally putting something out that explained what you where trying to say. I seriously could find nothing on line. I said that I could be convinced otherwise, just couldn't find any evidence. BCS schools were only listed as teams in the B1G, Big 12, SEC, etc. Then non-BCS was everybody else in FBS. So basically they have done the same thing they did with D1 and D1AA becoming FBS and FCS to try to hurt less feelings. Wood, you sounded like the Teeball coach screaming at the first baseman to "CATCH THE BALL!" It doesn't do much good without explaining it.
