Baylor scedule

ISU fans love to compare Puaw's first years against Kirk's and for the first three, Pauw had the edge. Unfortunately for Pauw for him to continue matching Kirk he needed 11 wins last year and 10 this year, something I don't think will happen.
But don't forget.Sos,sos,sos.

Yeah, making four bowls in a row is the mark of a horrible program that's negligibly different from Wofford.

Hawk fans are something else. They ***** about Iowa's weak non-conference schedule and then when some frickin pretender (Baylor) plays a schedule that is much weaker, we have Hawk fans coming out of the woodwork, defending that schedule. Priceless. SMU plays in a worthless league that has some automatic bowl tie ins. 4 bowl games in a row? Big deal. I guess they did win the BVD Compass Bowl. My bad. SMU is really good.

Wait, so do you believe that Iowa has a "horrible program" which is "not much different from Wofford"?

SMU is a decent opponent. A few years ago they had a really good recruiter (don't know if he is still there) that was pulling recruits out of California. They got a 4 star linebacker with offers to most of the Pac12 schools (including USC and Oregon) and he picked SMU and they were consistently getting 3 stars. June Jones is a pretty good coach, especially with those struggling mid major schools. He did well at Hawaii and seems to have SMU doing pretty well. Granted playing SMU is not anywhere close to scheduling a game against a SEC, ACC, or B1G opponent but a big step up from playing FCS. You can still fault Baylor for scheduling the other games against inferior opponents and like others have said it will keep them out of the BCS title game.

I think you mean BCS AQ conference? Buffalo and ULM are technically BCS schools since they are in FBS.

I have never seen an FBS school not in one of the major conferences that was referred to as a BCS school. I thought maybe I was misinformed, but I can't find anything that lists any school outside of a major conference listed as a BCS school. I think that Buffalo and ULM are simply FBS, but not BCS schools. I could be convinced otherwise. Those schools are normally referred to as non-BCS schools. Is everybody misrepresenting those schools.

SMU is as good of a program as NIU. I'm not defending any part of Baylor's schedule except for this one, because SMU actually is a solid non-BCS program. Don't hold me responsible for your ignorance (the death penalty was lifted in 1989, not just a few years ago).

SMU might be considered decent. Still not a BCS conference school and certainly no better than a UNI or Northern Illinois. I tire of the Hawk fans on this board who wine about Iowa's easy schedule & then get on and defend the weak schedule of Baylor. 10 of the last 13 years, Iowa has played 2 BCS conference schools in their non-conference schedule. Very few other teams schedule like that.

My God, you just insist on idiocy.

No one is defending Baylor's schedule, at least not in the sense that they're saying it's actually respectable. But when you make the incredibly stupid statement that SMU is no better than ******* Wofford, people will call you on it.

Just to clarify, SMU is technically in a BCS conference this year. They joined the AAC, which is an AQ conference, this school year.

Hey Baylor just played the best 1-5 team in the country. (yes I have already heard Cyclone fans say this, and one of their players said they were the best 1-4 team in the country during the post game last week).

Some day everyone will understand the difference between BCS and BCS AQ. Oh and SMU is actually a BCS AQ school.

It's not that people don't know the difference between BCS and BCS AQ. It's that nobody doesn't understand what you mean when you say BCS.

You are either doing a poor job of explaining what you are talking about, or do not know what you are talking about. The MAC for example is an FBS nonBCS conference.

"AQ conferences are sometimes called BCS conferences but that usage is not technically correct according to the BCS. These conferences are often referred to as power conferences especially for sports other than football."

The MAC under BCS' definition is a BCS conference, just not a power conference or AQ conference. Pretty simple isn't it?
