Barta either way...

Simple- Barta consulted the attorney's prior to firing either of them and the attorney's advised him to do it. Also I am sure they did the same thing with the trial- advised not to settle it. Appeal will be coming as this is not close to over most likely.

The attorneys certainly would have advised him to document employee misdeeds. Had he consulted them. Or, he could have followed University protocol that was well established on the need for documentation. I can tell you how well that's going to go over, when the BOR get together to discuss this.
