Barkley Hill/Jordan Canzeri

What I remember from Arob is that he was a pretty decent back when we didn't have any other options. Was he flashy, did he make your jaw drop???? NO, but he did get the job done pretty well for a few years.

Was he there when his team mates needed him? NO! Too bad for him. Too bad for us. I think had he 4 years he may have been pretty danm good. Now we have a new stable of guys to look forward to. I think one or two of them will be pretty good. Go gettem boys!!!!

I concur on all accounts....kudos!

Chris Perry, Duff, Im waiting.....oh and Lesean McCoy, his 4.8 would place him what 30th, 35th...?!?! Thank goodness he didn't play for Iowa eh Duffster?

Oooops I stand corrected...it would have placed him 40th with Albert Young a whole.2 ahead of Arob.......man was he an average ball player. Who knew....

Really I suppose you noticed he is ahead of former 1st round pick Chris Perry right.....Honestly why...I mean really you see one guy who you think helps your cause and then completely miss the obvious. Thats blinders baby in its truest since.

Just what I’ve come to expect…..again I said I anticipated these break downs to slant stuff, that’s why I just waited …..I knew it would be easy pickings to roll with the punches. Its never new and always slow…go ahead pick some more guys…..I’ll wait

This is just funny. Yes, one first round draft pick was behind A-Rob. A lot of average RB's are ahead of him too. And the one guy you are basing your argument on was a huge NFL bust. Apparently Chris Perry's average yards per carry in college should have been a warning sign to NFL teams. He was a huge bust rushing for a robust career yards per carry average of 3.4

A-Rob was an average RB, he was the best we had but he was by no means great. For a school that cranks out NFL lineman Iowa has had very disappointing rushing numbers for the better part of the decade, excluding the Shonn Greene year.

arob didnt have near the physical tools those other guys did. thats why when his iowa career ended he ended up not cutting it in some D3 school in Canadia instead of the NFL.

Arob was a very pedestrian running back who only saw the field due to the defection or injury of about a half dozen other players at his position. when pressed into service he got the most of his ability and put up average numbers in an offensive system designed to feature a power running game. after a second average season, one in which he had trouble keeping his position over a 180 pound true feshman he decided smoking pot and being a knucklehead was more important than football and got himself kicked off the team.

If you, in your hawkeye blinders, have managed to invent a reality in which anything about Arob would be considered great more power to you.

Thats where Ive been pushing for....find where I said great...I'll wait. You'll note I never came close to it and even said we had plenty of Rbers that were better....and by the by, you didn't call Lesean McCoy and his 4.8 average a bust did you...he is one of the 2 or 3 best Rbers currently in the NFL?!

So if you dont think he was pedestrian what is your point?

Quite frankly friend anyone that is overly opinionated or takes themselves too seriously typically won’t like what I say or how I say it. And for what it’s worth I’m not trying to get them too….If that’s you so be it...I wish I didn't make you mad, but I don't really care whether you find me smart or stupid. I’m not thin skinned or needing the appreciation or the props so to suggest that I care about looking smart is at best very poor identification skills and really quite ironic.

Ironic in that we continually have posts calling our past ball players bad or not Big 10 worthy by people trying to pass their opinion off as some sort of an authority on the matter and yet…..you, as have others, call me condensing, haughty, arrogant or “smart (and I suppose I can be)……But see here is the thing….I don't get paid by you or to coach or to post on here so if your bothered by me pointing out all the unfair, mean intentioned, overly critical things I see, then it is what it is. But as a rule of thumb, only type A people, those who share my traits are really offended by how I say things. Unfortunately they don’t share the fact that honestly I’m arguing from a position of defense for those who aren’t here to defend and I’m not under any sort of misunderstanding that I’m going to change the way they think or need to be validated.

I also don't have any problem apologizing or calling myself an arse, because sometimes I am and I need to. In fact I'm one of the few who will...

And I’ll let you in on a little secret, some days I choose my words carefully so as not to offend, and other days I say the heck with it. I don’t take myself very seriously or this board. Some it seem do and more to the truth (more irony) some seem to need their opinions to be “the word†and that’s interesting to me…yet I'm the bad guy.

As I said earlier, I can indeed be a jack arse and to tell you the Truth I often times feel bad about it and that’s why I go away, but when people are so crappy about calling players out or being just flat jerky about guys who quite frankly played pretty darn good, then really…they kind of have it coming. But they don't like it obviously and if it bothers you I wouldn’t come here or talk to guys like me for that matter.

Not everyone dislikes what I say and there are a lot of people who like these players that routinely get trashed.

Are we tracking…?!

So you basically make this post to say that you don't take this board seriously yet you basically write a novel to do so? And you say I'm the one that is bothered by what others say about me?....
