B1G reprimands Pelini, fines Nebby $10,000

Dude has a larger buyout than our beloved.....I don't see NE firing him but Im sure Pollard will be all up his agents sphincter the moment if/when it does happen.

I think you misunderstood. The chicken**** call was the pass interference on a non catchable ball.

He probably deserved the call for swinging his hat so close to the ref.

Not obsessed at all, just discussing a game that just took place a few days ago, you know, the last game both teams will play until the bowls. That, and it gives me something to do while at work (notice when I make almost all of my posts).

LOL, you must not pay much attention or are dilusional.

Agreed.

I just find it interesting that you go back only long enough to make your point. If you go back just a few more years to the beginning of the BCS it would clearly show that both NU and Iowa have been to 2 BCS games, both going 1-1.

Or maybe I should cherry pick the last 4 years where NU has played in 2 CCGs, where as Iowa has played in none.

Again, I beg of you, please show me a time where I said that we were. Please.

Out of curiosity, what is your (or anyone else's) definition of elite?

I just love the conjecture and the ill-informed posts that I read.

From the article:
“[The ref] said I got too close to him. I thought that was a chicken **** call. Excuse my language on that, but I had never seen anything like that before. I’ve done a lot worse than that. I saw [Iowa head coach] Kirk Ferentz on the other side acting a lot worse than I act. I didn’t see a flag come out on him. The bottom line is they knew they blew the call. They blew it. They blew that call over there on that third down. Everybody in the stadium knew it. They just didn’t man up enough to pick that flag up.”

He's cleary caling the unsporting penalty a chicken **** call, not the PI call.

If the call was holding or hitting a defenseless player, then I could entertain that argument. But it wasn't.

That should not have been a pass interference, plain and simple. The ball was uncatchable, which negates a pass interference penalty, even the TV commentators said so.

As for Kellogg, one of those hits was called a fumble (probably righfully so), the other an INC pass. From my recollection, it was incomplete but I'd have to go back and watch it again.

Plain and simple for you. You can't tackle a receiver when the ball is in the air. C.J. is 6'7". You can debate all day long whether or not the ball was catchable but we will never know because HE WAS FRICKIN TACKLED WHILE THE BALL WAS IN THE AIR. That my friend, is pass interference.
All of that is irrelevant anyway. The game was a complete a** whipping. A physical mismatch. My God, the game took damn near 4 hours because on virtually every play there was a Nebraska player laying on the ground, injured.

^^^ thank you.
It was uncatchable because his route was impeded by someone hanging on him and being tackled.
But I digress, the team who did not get a rushing first down until almost the half, you know the one whos qb spent more time looking at the heavens than a astronomy major, clearly they were the better team.
Btw 74 if you want your qb to play, maybe you should teach him to not kick things in a tantrum. Then again, like coach like player.

Those same tv commentators also defended Pelini's right to say F off to virtually everyone in the state of Nebraska because the statement was supposedly made in private and wasn't meant for all to hear. Nice logic.. There goes any credibility they have on anything.

The PI is certainly in the eye of the beholder. Pass looked to me to be way too high for CJ Fed to catch, but close enough where I can see how a ref who is 10-15 yards in front of or behind the play (where the two guys were who threw flags) would decide to throw a flag. If the DB doesn't just panic and tackle a guy early before the ball gets there it doesn't matter.

I agree. That ball was about 10 yards high, no way it was catchable. But you are correct, if our LB/DB?? doesn't tackle the guy the drive ends.

See the bolded, my good man ;) I guess there is enough in that statement to make it confusing. I could be wrong.

Umm, no. The ball was 10 yards away from TE, the uncatchable ball rule is made all of the time. As I said, if the refs wanted to call a hold or even unneccessary roughness, that would be more plausible. But that call was not correct.

Edit: Here read up on pass interference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pass_interference

"If the pass is deemed to be "uncatchable", pass interference rules do not apply in American college football or the NFL, and starting with the 2010 season they do not apply in Canada. This rule does not apply in American high school football."

Those same tv commentators also defended Pelini's right to say F off to virtually everyone in the state of Nebraska because the statement was supposedly made in private and wasn't meant for all to hear. Nice logic.. There goes any credibility they have on anything.

Oh, Bo has the right to make an *** out of himself. Just like anyone has the right to criticize him for those comments. Just because you disagree doesn't mean that the commentators don't know the rules of the game.

Anyhow, obviously here is another area where we won't agree and should just end the discussion. Iowa got the benefit of a bad call, it happens, no reason not to acknowledge it or apologize for it. And it didn't make the difference in the outcome of this game, IMO.

Btw 74 if you want your qb to play, maybe you should teach him to not kick things in a tantrum. Then again, like coach like player.

Proof? Or is this just more conjecture or an internet rumor that you want to propagate? You shouldn't believe everything you see on the internet.

Bo's demanor does not seem to resemble values espoused by the folx in Nebraska. For that reason, I think they are just holding their nose and hoping for wins.
