Attendance & Atmosphere at Carver

I don't know what's wrong with the cheerleaders and pole dancing at half-time...I've always thought that was a great idea!

You verified my point exactly - all of this stuff has been discussed by fans and posters repeatedly, but NOTHING has been done by the Athletic Department to change anything.

I understand the only surefire way to improve attendance is to win more games and put a better product on the court, but for a lot of people, going to games is a choice of how to spend entertainment dollars, and I think that the UI Athletic Department needs to step up their efforts in making the BB games a more attractive venue to spend hard earned dollars.

I hate to break it to you but we aren't talking about minor league baseball here. Do you really think having the Blues Brothers sing at halftime, a clown, a dancing pig, etc. at games is really going to bring people back to games?

All the marketing and gimmicks in the world can be used but unless the team starts winning people aren't going to see the value of going to the game.

Getting the program back to that point should be and better be the number one goal of the AD office not how to get 500 more people in the door to watch a guy spin plates on his head.

I hate to break it to you, but a lot of minor league teams would be drawing more fans than the Hawk BB team right now.

If you read my whole post, you would see that I want the Athletic Department to make the game experience more enjoyable by making it more affordable and enjoyable to go to Carver.

I agree 100% that winning is the best way to get people back, but even if the Hawks are able to improve to a 16-18 win team next year, I still don't see Carver Selling out unless some additional work is done by the Athletic department to make going to Carver a more attractive way to spend money and time.
