Are we 'free-balling it' again Sunday?

Now that they have seen what they are capable of the TEAM needs to strap on the Jok for support versus the other way around up till now. His back won't get so sore and they may just kick some serious ass the rest of the way!

I hope he's 100 and ready to go and comes back. He certainly looked pretty healthy on the bench at Rutgers celebrating. The team has played better without him but he's an assassin that any team in the country would want on their team. My hope is maybe his minutes go down a wee bit so he can get some breathers and be able to contribute more on the D end because even he has to realize at this point, it's not all on him.

The Hawks are better with a healthy Jok than they are without him. They aren't better with an ailing Jok. Those last 3 games he played they looked awful. Primarily because he wasn't himself, but they still tried to run the offense through him and it was a disaster.

These last couple of games they've learned that they are more than capable of running an efficient offense without Jok. They just have to spread the ball around. I hope they continue to do that when he return because it results in better shots being taken, and I think a more efficient offense.

I hope both the team and the coach realize this......good point

It is not freeball. It is a run game and going away from 1/2 court. Wisky and MSU will try very hard to keep it 1/2 court.

I agree. Hopefully they learned to let Jok get his points in the flow of the game like they have been doing with great ball movement and not get tunnel vision on Jok to shoot. If they keep that ball rotating they will be fine.

Not just offensively, but when he was hurt, he really was a liability on defense. But Fran kept him out there hoping his offensive abilities would make up for it. I really hope he is healthy because that just means we can be that much more aggressive. But I am extremely pleased to see that if he isn't healthy, we can at least hang with teams and beat some too.

Right. Hopefully Fran, and Jok I suppose, don't push it. Like Melrose said, the key is to keep the ball moving in order to get good shots. There's no reason to play me ball. These last few games have shown that they have other players who are more than capable of scoring. I hope Jok realized that while watching. They don't need Jok to take bad shots even though he makes some of them. Bad shots are always available. Good shots aren't. If the shot clock is running out then sure... get the ball in Jok or Bohannon's hands and let them chuck it. Otherwise, keep it moving. Play inside out. Attack the defense from all 5 positions. They have that ability because all of them can score. It's just a matter of getting good looks.

If he plays he should just be added to rotation like the other scoring guard and see what he does. We can play our best ball to date if we use what we have learned in the past couple games. The open guy, the hot guy shoots the rock. Don't run plays for one of 5 guys all the time.
