Are We a Lock for a Postseason Tournament?

Or do we have to win a game or two in the BTT? I'm talking about any of the tournaments. What do you guys think?

As of today:

NCAA- No chance unless Iowa wins Big 10 tournament
NIT- No chance unless Iowa wins 3 games in Big 10 tournament
CBI- Lock. If Iowa wants to play in it
CIT- Lock. If Iowa wants to play in it

This is the way I see it.

I think they are a lock for the CBI but can play their way into the NIT with 2 wins in the BTT.

I think 1 win may get them into the NIT. Beating Illinois on a neutral court should give them the edge since we also finished ahead of them in the regular season. Also i dont see how you put Minnesota in after we swept them. At this point i think we should be cheering for Northwestern to get an NCAA bid because i think the NIT will take at least 1 Big Ten team.

I don't think we will be playing in any post season tourney unless we win 2 at BTT.

I mean maybe CBI or something....but really does anyone care about that? they're like scrimmages.

If Iowa loses on Thursday I think an NIT invite is still a possibility, although less than 50-50.

If the Hawks win on Thursday then an NIT invite is a probability.

Win two and the NIT is a lock.

As for the NCAA I think Iowa needs at least 3 tournament wins for an invite. Obviously 4 tournament wins would cement the deal.

If Iowa loses Thursday they are 16-16 overall. I don't know that gives Iowa a postseason berth. Wasn't ISU 15-15 last season and they didn't get any postseason tournament?

Would love to make NIT as I feel 4 in 4 is perhaps expecting too much based on consistency or lack thereof this season. The extra practice time would be great and any extra games would be a great reward for those seniors that stuck around.

Undoubtedly......

We do have this in our favor.....

"According to Jeff Sagarin's computer poll, today, the IOWA HAWKEYES are one of only 12 teams in America to defeat 4 Top 25 teams, this season."

Found this on another site, two days ago.....
