Are Bowl games going to go away?

With the playoffs taking the big ones just not much interest anymore. Now Notre Dame opts out
Players headed to the pros have little reason to play which diminishes teams I still look forward to seeing the Hawks play again but it ain’t the same

If someone wants to pay to have two teams matched up and they can make it work more power to them. If the bowls stay alive that extra few weeks of practicrs add up. Take perennial bowl teams and multiply the number of extra practices they have compared to a Nebraska that went for years without. The number is substantial and valuable to young guys

I hope not. I don't care if you call them bowl games, but I do like adding a non-conference game against, in theory, a team that's similar in ability to you, that you wouldn't typically play. It give the teams and fans a chance to spend time in the south (hopefully), have fun, and play one more game. If I don't want to watch it, I can watch the Married...with Children Christmas marathon.

I hope not but I think they will eventually go away. I found out that even DIII has bowl games for teams that missed the playoffs, Upper Iowa just played in one that I've never heard of.
