Anyone know why Kirk was so emotional after the game?

Last time I remember a reaction like that was after beating PSU just after his Dad had died. Was it just the fact that it was against Pitt or what?

Yes, because it was against Pitt. And that Iowa was dead to rights and snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat. Not the normal outcome over the past couple years.

I just don't understand why that is his only emotion, or so it seems. I would like to think he was at least a little excited during the comeback, why not show that emotion too and let it filter down to the players. His demeanor is great most of the time and helps to keep things in check, but a little spunk and spark once in a whil wouldn't hurt either.

I thought he showed great emotion on the sideline for most of today's game. I don't think he'll ever step it up to another level without having him randomly take hits off of a crack pipe during the game.

He finally has to admit he was wrong about his gameplan. Can't just pound the ball up the middle all day.

He was feeling sorry for all the Iowa fans who had jumped out the window in the 3rd quarter.

After the pounding his team took last week and then for 3 quarters today to come back and win this game, let the man cry.

Guys, he's lost the last 5-6 regular season games in the last minutes...we don't pull these out very often and he's taken alot of heat for the performance in the 4th quarter. His team didn't flinch or make the big mistake. And we closed it out on defense. I'd be emotion too. Can you imagine what the press would have done to him if Pitt goes down and scores?

I think sometimes he looks emotional, but he's kind of talking out of the side of his mouth so you can't read his lips and it just gives him weird facial expressions. Not saying he wasn't emotional.

if you were there boy would have seen him animated the entire second half. he was working the line judge over...and rightfully so. funny stuff.

I know what you are saying but they showed a close up of him and he was damn near balling. I think it is great because he cares so much and is so happy for the kids and what they showed today. Also glad I waited until after the game to post something.;)
