Anyone been to Happy Valley Before?

I am looking at going to the Iowa-PSU game in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone has tips on where to sit. I see that the visitor sections are NJU-NLU for the upper level and NJ-NL on the lower level. Is it a better view from either? I am looking at section NK right now. Thanks!

I've been there 4 times and the next game will be my 5th. I sit with my PSU buddy in the upper levels. My thought is lower would be a bit better as you are closer but the views from up above are good as you can get a better perspective of the whole field.

They have good fans and are always welcoming......
Have fun in Happy Valley.

Whatever you do don't get seats in the upper level of the south endzone. It maybe the closest you ever get to heaven. Plus, you are probably in another area code.

I've been to Happy Valley about a dozen times for Hawk & Buck games. The best seats I've had were on the 15 yard-line about 12 rows up for the '00 Hawk game. Hansen's interception was right in front of us. We were the first ones in the stadium to know Iowa had won.

Be prepared to see the biggest ag school you've ever seen. For game day parking, they park you in fields around the cow, horse & pig barns.

I was just in State College in July. I can confirm that the stadium is across the road from a farm ... I thought I was in Ames for a second. Also, from the outside, it's one of the ugliest stadiums I've ever seen.

I was out there in the monsoon in 2009. I sat in the first row of the upper deck in the iowa section, good seats. Not sure how it would have been had I been toward the top though.

I was going to comment... but I just realized you were asking about a different happy valley! I was going to say that my visit there was none of your business!

But seriously, folks, Bring your camera for the drive to and from. That time of year the mountains should be spectacular! And if you drive there from Philly area, look for the completely out of place replica of the Statue of Liberty in the middle of the river.

Been to State College twice..better than watching a game at the LA Coliseum or Rose Bowl, IMO. At Penn St, the seats go straight up and not slopping out like the California stadiums.

And the PSU fans are very gracious. Show Hawkeye class when there, and they will reward you for it. Those are very good people. Enjoy your trip guys.

Agreed. I've been to all the Big Ten venues and they are probably the most gracious and down to earth people. Was there in 09' and would love to go back. If it wasn't for the monsoon we would have enjoyed the nice mountain back drop as well.

I went in 2009 and it rained the whole day and during the entire game, but it was by far the best college football game I have ever been too. And the people were great, even after we knocked them off. Enjoy your trip!
