Decided to hoof the 5 hour drive from Durant and see Iowa play @ Nebby on Thursday with my son.

Decent tix (mid court, upper level), etc.

Anyone been there? Any parking suggestions? Good places to eat after? Anything else?

Thanks in advance/sdk

Good for you Seth. I know nothing about your query except that you will be treating your son to a great Hawkeye BB performance. They will hustle, play smart and only for the team. Great lessons I'm sure you are teaching to your youngin'

On top of that your son will remember winning with class.. hopefully for this contest but certainly forever,

Why worry about parking space, you should be driving this

Could be a buzz kill....winter storm watch in effect....up to 8" near Omaha area with gusts on Thursday afternoon.

However, having been through 50+ Iowa winters, I've seen em dissipate as rapidly as they development.

Still took the chance! Go Hawks!

I'm thinking about driving up from KC on Thursday. I made the drive to Iowa City on Sunday, and I'd love to go support the boys again against Nebby.

If you decide to go and actually make it (weather etc)....give me a shout

We'll be in town no later than 6 I hope.

Go to the Haymarket before the game (bars and retuarants). Will have to drive to the game from there. Too far to walk.

Winter storm for our area over here! The road to Lincoln is ugly with wind and snow! Come to my house and watch it with me!

The Devaney Center is located on the old State Fairgrounds, which has been leveled so parking should not be a problem. (As long as they can get the snow moved.) Seriously, check the weather before you come over. It may be fine, but I saw where Jim Cantore said he would be in Lincoln, Omaha or Des Moines for this storm.

Parking is $5

As for eating, someone else suggested the Haymarket Area downtown, and that would be my suggestion as well. Vincenzo's is a very nice Italian place. Lazlo's is a Brewery & Grill, The Oven (Indian), Buzzard Billie's (Cajun), and downtown, but not in the Haymarket is Misty's (Steak). Also, there is a new place downtown called Single Barrel. I have not had the chance to try it yet, but I hear it can be a fun spot.

Hopefully you can make it over. We need all the Hawk fans we can get. While Nebraska is certainly beatable, they have played some of the big boys tougher than I thought they should. Hopefully Iowa can make it 4 in a row.

Since both Nebraska and Iowa have an open weekend, there is talk of moving the game from Thursday to Saturday. Not sure if ESPN would still be interested or not. Would probably be a bigger Iowa crowd if it were on Saturday. Should know by the end of today.

AS long as Iowa can travel to Nebby tomorrow ahead of the storm, why should they cancel the game? Once in Lincoln the teams, coaches and referees can get to the game. They should play this game on Thursday night... don't really want to just listen to it on the radio on Saturday.

Iowa will fly out there tomorrow. The officials, TV crew, etc.........would also arrive tomorrow. The game will be played on Thursday.

They'll be hanging out in Nebraska for a few days, likely. But game will be played on Thu.
