We really should stick to football, basketball, wrestling, etc. etc.

Frankly, with all of the loud music now being played at Iowa home games, the band really isn't even that relevant anymore. They entertain at halftime and that really is about it.

I have a better idea, let's just get them to announce over the loudspeakers that the opponent "has entered the CaseIH Safety Zone!"

Aside from the Enter Sandman and Back In Black opening during pregame, I would rather they not play any music over the loudspeaker system and just let the band handle the in-game music. For me it's one of the many atmospheric aspects that make college football games special. I'll take the Hawkeye Marching Band instead of current music blasted over the PA any day.

I agree completely. What is even worse is when the loudspeakers start playing something over the top of the band.
