Answer the phone

Nice article in HAWK CENTRAL about coaches and high level recruits now being willing to at least talk to the IOWA coaches.

I have not found a teen ager yet who will answer their phone. They typically let it go to voice mail and then text you back.

“All the players loved him,” Dillard said of Ingram. “At the end of the day, you want the kid to be happy. You’re never going to stop a young man from leaving. If his is what he wants to do, we’re going to give him 100 percent support.”

Contrast this to the attitude of butt-hurt Bo Ryan displayed when Uthoff decided he wanted to play closer to home.

apple, meet orange.

Sherm Dillard and all other Iowa athletic dept. personel: If I hear one of you say that playing in the NIT finals is a "national championship" again, I will personally kick you in the mouth.

Not so fast, my friend. This is not the first time Iowa has taken the high road to Bo Ryan's low road. A few years back, someone wanted out of their NLI from Iowa. While not official, it was widely believed that he was going to go to Wisconsin. Not only did the Iowa coaching staff grant him his release, they went to the B1G and argued FOR the move when the B1G said no.

It's more like golden delicious vs. granny smith.

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

Cute response. But you're right, of course. There were major differences between the two players. In the first case, you had a player that had become disillusioned with his original choice of schools and wanted to transfer somewhere closer to home and in the second case, you had a kid who was disillusioned with his original choice of schools and wanted to transfer to another school closer to home. How could I have not seen the vast differnece in those situations?

Maybe it's more-red delicious meet jonathon. Uhtoff was probably going to get a chance to play more at Wisconsin than Ingram was going to get to play at Iowa.
