An NBA Lockout would be GREAT!!!

wouldn't bother me a bit, it's only worth watching April-June, and that's a stretch most years.

NBA lost appeal to me when Jordan retired the 1st time (and I'm not really a Bulls fan, but Lakers). It began losing appeal to me in early 90s. I'll get into the playoffs some years, other years just casually. Rarely catch more than a couple minutes hear and there of reg season game.

I would be fine with that as long as my favorite derby of the year, "The Smoke Out", between the Blazers and Nuggets can still be played.

There's a very good chance it happens. And with the NFL probably locking out in 2011 as well, it could be a bad year for pro sports.

What year was it? 2003? When they had a lockout and didn't start til mid January and played a 50 game schedule. I sorta liked that setup. I'm like hawkingoferland I'm just a casual observer of the NBA

If the NBA is going lockout you might as well piggyback on the most popular professional sports league in this country.

It was 1999-2000 when they locked out. That was a terrible season. The lock out ended real sudden and all of the players were out of shape when the season began. The Knicks were an 8 seed that year but got to the finals.

There's no way either the NBA or NFL will cancel their entire season as both have too many players who are living paycheck to paycheck and won't be able to survive missing an entire year. The longer a lock out drags on the more pressure the players will put on the players union to settle, the owners can wait all day to settle.

I wouldn't really care because I don't really start watching the NBA until the playoffs.

What would be interesting though is if a bunch of scabs from Euro and other overseas leagues filled in for the NBAers while they were on lockout. It would be laughable!!! Then I might watch the regular season.

Won't happen, owners would rather have empty arenas. With half the teams of the league losing money already, they would much rather just have no expenses for a year. Plus most of the high level Euro guys make more than the NBA minimum so they would have no reason to come play for less in a league that would now be inferior to the league they were already in.

Why watch it then? It would just be worse basketball.

I agree that the NBA season should be shortened to 50 games (the NHL too)

The MLB season should go to 144 like in 1995

NFL should stay at 16, but drop 2 of the preseason game

They will never shorten the seasons for a bunch of reasons, but I hope at some point they would contract some teams so the product on the court/field wouldn't be so watered down.

I would contract the following teams:

NBA

Grizzilies, hornets, bobcats, debating on whether or not to contract the timberwolves.

NHL

All the teams south of Boston, except the North Stars....get rid of Columbus also.

MLB

Kansas City, Pittsburgh, both Florida teams

NFL

32 teams 8 divisions 4 teams work perfectly.......put the Jaguars out in LA would be the only change I would make.

You would contract the 2nd best team in major league baseball? Which also happens to have a top five farm system? Thus having arguably the brightest future of any MLB team the next decade? You're heartless.

A lot of people (myself included) love to hate...and there is a lot of hate out there for the Miami Heat. Their games will suddenly become must watch tv whenever there is a chance they could get beat.

I am an Orlando Magic fan and during their prime years - Shaq, Penny etc. - I was more entertained by watching the Bulls lose than the Magic win.

If Chris Paul goes somewhere relevant (preferably Orlando)...and we can get some other teams who can legitimately challenge the Heat...the regular season will have some intrigue again (albeit not a ton).

Why is everyone crowning the Heat?! IF you wanna crown em...CROWN EM! BUT THEY ARE WHO I THINK THEY ARE!! AND THE NBA BETTER NOT LET THEM OFF THE HOOK!!!
