Freddy Russell didn't totally escape the injury bug in 2002. Near the end of the season he had some sort of foot or ankle issue. I can't remember if Lewis filled in for the last game or two or if Russell played through it with his foot taped up. I believe Russell still had his foot taped up for the bowl game against USC and wasn't running 100 percent.

IIRC, didn't he have his upper arm majorly bandaged - almost to the point where it looked like a cast - for a portion of that season? (if it wasn't '02, it was '03...but I remember him being pretty healthy in '03)

Freddy missed a good bit (maybe all) of the game at Michigan in 2002. Sophmore Jermelle Lewis did a fine job. We hammered the #8 ranked Wolverines in their own home.

I think Bullock played a lot of 3rd downs where he is effective. That's where he should be. He got 2 carries for 4 yards. I'm glad that it was AW instead of DB splitting the carries with MW.
