Dude how old are you? Did you lose money over him or something? Saying things like that about an amateur athlete says way more about you than anything. So let me get this strait. Because some Iowa fans choose to wish them well you feel they shouldn't root for Iowa anymore? Pretty solid logic there. Look you can not root for him and be all butt hurt over him leaving if you want. Hell I'm not exactly ecstatic about it. I think he'd have been a perfect fit for us. But it takes two to make a match. Just because I think Cindy Crawford and I would be great together doesn't mean she thinks the same. So because she feels the way she does doesn't make me root against her or wish her ill. That's just insane.
It's nice to know you think so highly of all the Hawks that have never been all Big 10 or a quality starter in your eyes that's decided to move on to find a better fit for themselves. How dare these young athletes that have put so much time sacrifice and effort into something for themselves not live up to your expectations and do what you want....
Do you have kids? Because I'd be curious to know if they do everything you want and live up to your high expectations all the time... You know what don't answer that...

You missed the point completely. Im not whining because he left. Im saying that he sucked at basketball and will also suck at football. Heart isnt in either one. My point is he LEFT the program. He chose not to be a Hawk. If he had a family member die or become ill I would wish him well and classify him as a below avg big ten basketball player. Why are you upset that im not upset that he's leaving? Are you now the Gestapo and handing out mind shaping suggestions. I think he is not good and l have every right to say that he sucks. Do you have any evidence that he was a good basketball player? Had he stayed a Hawkeye I would have cheered for him. I would have evaluated his Hawkeye career as sub-par as im allowed to do in a free society.
Ill go back to the football de-commits from a couple years ago. I care about the Hawks and the kids who commit and stay commited to the family. Had you been in my family and married Cindy Crawford, yea, id think she was a skanky wh@re just as soon as she left you. Once they leave without going pro or graduating.....injury...leave the sport....god bless you...Thanks for being a Hawk. You leave to go wear blue or any other color, im not going to root for you. I cheer for the Hawks. What is it that you do? Evidence shows you complain about them 24/7. If you find yourself on the opposite side, find a team you actually like. The bitching about KF and the Hawks every moment or the day is an old schtick Turn the page. CHEER for the Hawks. Don't bag on me because I enjoy every moment I get to watch a game or CHEER for the Hawks.

No I don't think I missed your point at all. You pretty much solidified it for me now. Comparing amateur college athletes to soldiers doesn't even remotely work as an analogy btw... These kids (most of them) choose where they go for different reasons than fans. Most don't go to their 'dream' school like Matt Gatens for an example. He was pretty much a Hawk at birth right? Well like 98% pick their schools based on overall fit. And those fits can change for a million different reasons during their time.
Wagner wasn't a great D1 basketball player. He's a tweener. He's an undersized power forward or a SF without much skill. He was a role player at best that had a handful of pretty good games. It remains to be seen if he'll be a good WR/TE. He's got the physical tools for it so he'll get a couple years to give it a go. I wish it'd have been at Iowa but it's not. It's not something to throw a tantrum like a 3 yr old over.
