AJ apparently can't learn from big brother Zach's earlier off field failings........stay tuned for the fallout.............props to KCJJ

Re: Brother, where art thou now?

Assuming your cryptic message indicates AJ got arrested for an alcohol related offense?

Re: Brother, where art thou now?

KCJJ reporting AJ Derby got arrested for public intox and 4th degree criminal mischief last night.

Re: Brother, where art thou now?

wow. that's incredibly poor judgment if true. i'm guessing he might get more than one game. what's the other charge equate to? getting rowdy?

Most likely damage to public property. Charge will probably be dropped since its his first offense and in the 4th degree at that. Chalk it up to another Hawkeye public intox.

Re: Brother, where art thou now?

report has him punching out the window of a bus.........hope he didn't break his hand.

He did offer to pay for the damage.

I think he just lost his #2 QB position. You have to hold your QB's to higher standards.

Re: Brother, where art thou now?

Punishment = force him to another position, like DE or LB so he can use his aggresion to help the team. Besides Ruddock is going to be #2 next year anyway...

(completely tongue in cheek)

Re: AJ Derby Arrested??

THis is the story:

Backup Iowa quarterback AJ Derby was arrested on Saturday on charges of 4th Degree Criminal Mischief and Public Intoxication.
Police were called to Wildwood Smokehouse and Saloon on Walleye Drive east of Iowa City a little before 11:30pm Saturday. Witnesses said a male had punched out a window on a bus as he exited it.
The male was id...entified as Derby, who admitted to punching the window and said he would pay for it.
Police say Derby, who lives in the 2600 block of First Avenue in Coralville, had watery red eyes, slurred speech and smelled of ingested alcohol. A preliminary breath test registered a blood alcohol concentration of .120.
The 20-year-old Derby was booked into the Johnson County Jail about 11:30pm and was released about an hour later. He faces up to 13 months in jail if convicted.
Derby has played in two games this season, going 3-6 for 30 yards.
It has been a very quiet year off the field for the Hawkeyes. Derby is the first football team member charged with any sort of crime in 2011.

We are not ISU, he will probably sit out a while if not get kicked from the team.

Kirk holds upperclassmen to higher standards. AJ is a RS freshman, so I really doubt he'll be kicked off the team. But he will be in the dog house and I can't see him holding onto #2 in the short term.
