A couple big recruits this weekend

Brian Wallace (OL-3 star) from Missouri and Tyler Wiegers (QB-4 star) from Michigan are visiting this weekend. Be nice to put up a good performance for these guys. Imagine a class that had some good athletes at the skill positions with Smith at RB, Scheel at WR already...possibly add Adonis Jennings at WR and Wiegers at QB would be really nice.

It could be a rather interesting finish to recruiting. I wonder if landing Wiegers could help us land Jennings?

I wonder if it could be even more than this. Could the visit by Jennings have anything to do with the visit by Wiegers, since commits often communicate? Maybe these two became close while Rutgers commits.

I don't really see how that could just be a coincidence. That will be a great day for a visit. The Hawks will throttle Little Blue.

Wow... What turned out to be a disappointment in recruiting so far is about to possibly become one of KF's better classes.

Seems odd that UM and MSU aren't going after Wieger (from Detroit.) Haven't looked at either of their commit lists or roster, but they may be soon to follow.

As Rutgers football implodes, Iowa appears to be right there to pick off some of the pieces. In addition to the Tyler Wiegers stories linked above, this on Adonis Jennings, whose Iowa interest has become known:

Also, anyone know whether Iowa is pursuing WR prospect David Njoku? In the story below, he says while he's still interested in Rutgers, he's talking to Temple, Miami (Fla.), Boston College, Penn State and Ohio State.

Wiegers is a pro-style, drop-back pocket passer. Aren't both UM and MSU going after more mobile QBs?

24/7 crystal ball has 7/7 predicting iowa

I just watched Wieger's highlights and he is really good. He is 6-4 and 215 and looks like he could step in and start right away, physically. This would be a really nice get. I sure hope 24/7 is right and that UM and MSU don't poach him afterward.

A big game on Saturday became even bigger! We need a good showing!! GO HAWKS!

I'd agree and say a good showing from both the team and the fans!

Can you imagine if Kinnick gets a rocking, the impression we could leave on these guys?!? Offda.

We are currently mid 30s in team rankings so these would be nice gets. And while I know ranking don't mean everything, Id rather be 1st than 37th.

Law...I thought UM was trying to convert to pro-style and that is why Devin Gardner took over for Denard Robinson last season. As for MSU, I do recall they had a "mobile" qb in the mix this season, but the Cook (I would describe as drop back, pro-style) seems to fit what Dumbtoenail likes. I could be wrong about both, but that is how I understand those programs. Hey, if they pass on Wiegers, great! I'm all for it. ;)

As I said, he'd be a great get for the Hawks. And I think they will.

MSU already has a 4* scout and 3* rivals QB Chris Durkin and UM has 3* scout and 3* rivals QB Wilton Speight committed to their classes.

They probably don't want 2 in the class.
