A commercial like this can get me back into the NBA

Just from the caption, I knew exactly what commercial you were talking about. I thought it was very tastefully done and had to take a long time to make everything work as well as it did.

Also anythings better than those giant head commercials they use.

It was a great commercial, then it lead into the Knicks and Celtics. Watched about 2 minutes and that was good enough for me for the NBA this year.

Those giant head commercials were awesome last year. Especially the Kevin Durant faces.

Come back,Spank.
It is a new golden era for the NBA.
Rose,Griffin,Durant are all part of the new wave of solid, high character, team guys that are all about winning.
Oh and they are also spectacular players as well.

There's one giant head commercial that's pretty funny this year. The posted commercial put me to sleep.

I feel sorry for all you youngsters who didn't get to enjoy Dr. J, Larry, Magic, and some of those other legends in their prime.
Once upon a time, the NBA was populated with real men who understood the team game.
Nowadays, all you get are whiney prima donnas and soft, entitled b!tches who care only about the boy in the mirror.

I don't know if I will ever get back into the NBA again. I used to watch when I was younger, Jordan, Armstrong, Charles, Rodman etc.. Then got to a point when I would only watch the playoffs, then the later rounds of the playoffs, then only the finals.

I really could have cared less if they did not play this year. I seriously would not have missed it. I try to get into it but just can't. I guess I can't relate to most of the players now. Same thing happened with hockey. I enjoy the game but don't relate to the players so I don't take the time to watch. Sadly, I'm just not into the NBA & it is now an afterthought.

Was that when frankfurters only cost a nickel?!?

Rose looks like he belongs in that picture with MJ, Scottie, and Cartwright at 0:21 :)

Great commercial, frankly though...I could care less about the current NBA game. The season is too long, there are too many teams, I really don't like losing teams making it to the playoffs and the product as a whole is just suffering to me.

I can buy the too many teams argument, but the 82-game schedule has been around for a long time. I'll never understand that argument, just like with baseball. The amount of games on the schedule hasn't changed in a very long time.

As for losing teams making the playoffs, I agree. They need to cut back on the number of teams who make it, no more than 6 per conference.

But to say the overall product has been suffering is a sign you haven't been paying attention. The lockout definitely hurt, but prior to that the NBA had been on the rise. I used to hate the NBA in the post-Jordan era. Full of thugs and little defense outside of San Antonio and Detroit. But now there are players who are fun to watch, and there is plenty of defense around the league. The guys like Rose, Durant, Griffin, Rondo, etc. are giving a lot of people a reason to watch. If we could just get David Stern out, then the league could really take off again.

What do people think of the D Wade and LeBron Superman poses (done directly in front of Cam Newton) last night after he put the Heat up 1 with 2.9 seconds left? I believe it was all done in fun.

Here's what Wade said after the game:

"It's a great homage to him," Wade said. "He was laughing. He was cracking up. But it was great respect to him. I wasn't trying to show nobody up. It's about how much respect we have for the athletes."

Even more amazing is that even with a shortened season this year, the season is still 6 mo long with the finals in June. Way too long. They should just do a 50 game schedule & have the playoffs & get it over in about 3 months. 6 MONTHS!!

Really enjoyed that commercial, but only because of the memories it brought back. I can remember watching the game of the week on Sunday afternoons, (and it really was the only NBA game on tv during the week) - in black and white in the mid 60's. My heroes were Chamberlain, Cousy, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell, Bob Pettit... oh those were the days. Haven't really watched the NBA since the glory days of the Knicks in the early 70's... don't feel like I have really missed anything, and it's sad that the league has so little appeal to many, not all, of us "older" fans.
