I said the same thing. He has no business being the offensive coordinator. None.
Sure you did. Four years ago Brian had barely become the OL coach.

Agree100%. Physically, Young resembles the type of back that historically has had success at Iowa. Strong, power runner a la Greene, Coker, and Weismann. We’re set up for that type of bruising runner, so why isn’t he the featured back? The wrong RBs are getting most of the carries. The best RB was the one who did NOT fumble on our last 2 drives

....and the more the other ones get the ball the more they look like the wrong ones.
That was 66 yds of TOTAL offense
If you drop the mic & then start a rant, no one would hear you. Move your drop mic to the end of your rant.
Like "rushing" "blocking" "catching" "finishing"??people using words and expressions they don't understand has become an epidenture
Extension for BF as well huh? Yo Pray for surf huh! Win Sat helps much... Go Hawks.I won't be surprised if Iowa has a new OLine coach next year.......I don't be surprised if no change is made as well
We had like 2:30 left in the game to go 90 yards, and Brian is calling running plays and passes behind the line of scrimmage. Some people still think he's the goods. LolAlso why in the hell was Iowa running the ball on that last drive? I'm not even saying that because of the fumble but with the clock situation you needed 10 yards on that play for it even to be effective, and then have to get set to run another play. Seemed really stupid to be doing that when you needed a TD in order to win.
64 yards is ONE GOOD RUN.
Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic!!!
But hey remember the good old days of last year when we rushed for 66 against Wisconsin?
I wonder if Polasek is a square peg in a round hole. His style of coaching linemen does not jive with how Ferentz wants it taught.
The problem is the offensive coaching staff and head coach doesn't see the problem. They see it as working on the little things. It is the definition of insanity at its best. Their zone blocking scheme that they are trying to employ has not been successful for a few years especially with the lineman skill set they currently have and the backs they currently have. This year is the case where they need to throw the ball to open the run game up the o-line is much better at protecting the passer than blocking the run.
I stated it in another post I just don't understand the inconsistency in the play calling and the aggressiveness from one game to the next. Some games it really seems like they have their shit together then other games it is just all out of wack. There is no reason why we do the things we do on some plays and then we have successful plays and never go back to them. Like Hayden said you need to scratch where it itches and this offensive coaching staff is absolutely terrible at doing that on a game to game basis. The one thing they need to get rid of out of the play book for sure are the damn reverses and jet sweeps. Might as well have the QB Take a knee and it would be more successful

In a roundabout way, the jet-sweeps and reverse work. Prime example: two years ago against Illinois, Wadley in the slot, LD at RB. Fake jet-sweep to Wadley, pitch to LD who house it from about 30 yards. Absolute gold...
...and they never. used . it. again!
