2012 SG Mike Gesell offered by Iowa

I saw him play on Sunday. He plays hard and agressive. He gaurded Wesly Staten and did a good job on him. He is a terrific shooter and handles the ball well. The only downfall was his height. Hopefully he continues to grow and develop.
 
Will he be as good as Brust? Sounds somewhat similar. I do not like short wing guys,but hopefully he will get a bit taller.
 
He does remind me of Brust a little bit. I think Gessels has more of a pure shot. They are both athletic but lack in the height department for a high D1 recruit. It looks like Gessels is working on getting stronger and should have a good frame by the time he hits college. Keep in mind I have only seen a few you tube videos of Brust.
 
He has great mid range shot. Kind of a lost art now a days. He does a great job of driving to the hoop if its there, but also has no problem stopping for the 6-8 foot shot. I wish he could get another 2 inches. Strength is not an issue, or is BB knowledge, work ethic, or competitiveness.

Haluska was the last Iowa player I can recall that could and would hit the 15 ftr with consistency.
