Not trying to make any predictions but im just looking a the schedule and we start with 5 straight home games (including a "home game" at Soldier). That is alot to start the season but it does set up nicely.

1Northern Illinois (Chicago)
8 Iowa State (Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series)
15Northern Iowa
22Central Michigan
29Minnesota (HC)
October

6Bye 13
at Michigan State
20Penn State
27at Northwestern
November
3at Indiana
10Purdue (FW)
17at Michigan
23Nebraska (FA, S)

Right now I would see 4 leaning towards losses, at Michigan St, at Northwestern, at Michigan, Nebraska at home. Especially with the personal we lose this year alone.

Hawks should have a good shot at a 5-0 start, five games in September which is rare...8 wins should be attainable.

I'm not so sure about a 5-0 start with Iowa State and Northern Iowa on back to back weekends. Recall 2009 against Northern Iowa. Iowa State will be determined to beat the Hawks in Kinnick. Look what Iowa State did to Iowa this year, and all the Cyclones did was move on to lose badly in the Big 12 to date.

I've come to dislike playing either school as Iowa has little to gain and a lot to lose as opposed to playing out of state schools not so hell bent on beating the Hawks as if it's the biggest game of the year for either school.

The Northern Illinois game is a 'road' game..

Mark your calendars folks, October 20th is the night game and the Black and Gold Spirit Game against Penn State again!

8 wins, as of right now, BETTER happen. a 5-0 start is HIGHLY attainable.

I think that schedule is VERY favorable, the only two losses I see are at MSU and at Michigan. 10-2 regular season record would be all right. If the D improves next year and it's hard to imagine it won't then beating both Michigan schools isn't crazy. Next year's team will have a chance to make some serious waves, I say driver seat for a conference title!

Northwestern loses a ton of seniors, including Persa,Ebert,4 of 5 o-linemen,Dunsmore, and a bunch of defensive linemen also. They will be worse than this year.

MSU and Michigan will be very tough at their places.
Otherwise, I think Iowa could be favored in the rest. Problem is,if we lose to Michigan and MSU,we probably are aced out of the Legends.

We are the HOME team on the neutral field i think.

So what does ISU beating Iowa in 3 OT's and losing badly in the Big 12 have to do with beating Iowa NEXT YEAR in Kinnick? Remember what Iowa did to PSU last year in Kinnick, yeah how did that turn out this year?

Northwestern loses a ton of players, MSU loses Cousins and most likely Worthy, Michigan loses Mike Martin and David Molk along with most of their receiving corp, Nebraska loses 3/5 OL, Crick, David, and half the secondary.

Point being, everyone loses important players

I don't understand why people want to always predict a loss against Michigan. they haven't been that good in a long time. I think Iowa wins this year and looking at what they lose and how much of an advantage we will have at QB next year with JVB again next year.

PSU loses a lot on the defense and the OL next year. MSu has he most back but they have to replace Cousins and the WR's, glad we play them earlier in the year. they could be and peDL

I wish that Iowa would pull out a big name non-conf foe. I'm not saying you have to schedule Oklahoma, Alabama, or someone... but maybe something other than directional school USA.

You got your wish, in 2013 we play Missouri......State and Western Michigan!

In 2014 we play ball state and pitt.

and in 2015 we play Illinois State and pitt!

You can't play 2 BCS Non-cons every year it appears in the B1G (Though to preach the strength of the league, they should)

Damn, Wisco doesn't play 2 BCS Non-Cons until 2017 according to FBS Schedules.

Laaaame.

Isn't the B1G moving to 9 conference games in 2017?
