Even if our defense becomes lights out? You say that because in your mind, you don't see our defense improving so you assume we need better pg play.
Our defense isn't going to go from awful to lights out

What if every other player on the team improves a bunch except CW and JB? Point is a lot of different things can happen besides pg improving to get us 18 wins.
PG is the most important position on the floor
So every team that makes the NIT has a good point guard?
We were really good for most of the year with average pg play last year but it's impossible to be average with bad pg play? How good the rest of the team is is completely irrelevant? Blanket statements normally aren't a good idea.
If our PG's were average last year than this year words can't describe how bad it is. Mike and Sapp were not only much better offensively than Bohannon and CW they were SO much better defensively.
Mike was better offensively. What games were you watching last year? Mike had no offense. Defensively, yes. Mike also was a senior with 4 years of college experience. Bohannon was 6 games of college experience. Pretty big span between the two. As a PG, Bohannon can bring the ball up the against the press. That's what we need. His offense, defense and turnovers will improve with experience.
Mike averaged 8.1 PPG last year. CW is averaging 2.2 PPG on 25% shooting from the floor and Bohannon is averaging 5.2 PPG on 24% shooting from the floor and we haven't even gotten to the meat of our schedule yet. Plus Mike had a much better Assist to Turnover ratio too so yes, Mike is much better offensively than both our PG's this year
When CW & Bohannon have 4 years of college experience, you will have a valid point.
Mike averaged 8.7 ppg as a freshman
I understand, you hate the PG's at iowa. I just think it's a little premature in their 1st year to determine them a lost cause (Yes, i know CW is a sophomore but this is his 1st year with quality min). They will get better.
You went from wanting to compare apples to apples to calling him a hater in the space of his 1 honest response. That's lame.I understand, you hate the PG's at iowa. Point guard is to Fran, as wide receiver is to Kirk
The problem with that logic is there are explainable reasons why Kirk can't recruit receivers. He doesn't run an offense that appeals to good receivers and even when he gets them, they don't appear great because he doesn't use them.
With Fran, it's a simple matter of he hasn't been here a long time (as in too long to make it a definite trend) and the one good pg recruit he did get didn't pan out to be great.
People act like it's unlikely he has the ability to land one just because he's only landed one in 4 years and that one didn't pan out. He very clearly knows how to identify good ones (no one can argue that) and he runs the right offense to attract them, so I'm pretty sure nothing crazy is going on here. It's probably the equivalent of asssuming something is wrong with a coin if it comes up heads 4 straight times. It's really not that big of a deal.
