Thoughts on ISU from Barry Switzer

In the Ferentz era in seasons when Iowa loses to ISU Iowa's record is 35-37. Iowa State's is 36-36. So when he loses to them, we're basically the same team. Which I suppose gives some credence to the "its their Super Bowl" argument...even if I don't buy it. In seasons when Iowa beats Iowa...

Here is the interim CyHawk Trophy

It works...not sure how they could come up with much more than that on such short notice.

    Iowa State by 4

Average score at Jack Trice in the Ferentz Era Iowa, 19 Iowa State, 16 Which is really funny considering ISU is 4-2 over that time frame. What that tells me is if the game is close we're in trouble. If it's a blowout, it will almost certainly be us who is administering the beatdown.

Things like this give Iowa fans a bad name.

Outdoors, when the weather is warm, there's not a thing wrong with Bud Light Lime as a cheap alternative to Corona. There I said it. The Smirnoff is inexcusable however, unless there were females in tow.

    Big Ten Championship Game ?

If for some reason we played Wisconsin for the Big Ten Title would they have to put the Heartland Trophy on the line?

Sunday Bowl Blog Update: Links, Hawks & Huskers

Both teams finished with 3 game losing streaks. ISU lost their starting QB during their losing streak. Iowa had a lead in the fourth quarter of all three games. ISU was not competitive in their last two. Yes, I would have no problem playing Iowa State.

Bring American flags to ISU game

If we pulled this off Stanzi's numbers for the game would be roughly 40-40, 825 yds, 14 TD Hawks, 137 Clones, 0

What would you sell your tickets for?

Considering I could probably get tickets to all 7 games on ebay, stubhub, etc for about $700 bucks (averaging out the value of each game) so if someone was dumb enough to pay me more than that for them they can have them. I'll just go buy 7 tickets from brokers and pocket the rest.

Good ole Perrault must be hurting for ratings...

He doesn't think we can compete with those teams. Neither does anyone else outside of the state. Not sure why this is such an outrage. Now then...where I found his argument to be flawed was when he said on one hand that using how Iowa fared against SEC teams in years past is irrelevant...

Sounds more like LSD to me, as that would be a hallucinogen. No chance all three of them lose. I'd be positively giddy with two out of three.

Would you hire Mark McGwire? LaRussa did.

He's a hitting coach. I think people are over-estimating the role and the scruitiny of the position. The media doesn't have access to the coaching staff after games. Only the manager. They can talk to him before the game if he agrees, but he is under no obligation to do so. My guess...

Would you hire Mark McGwire? LaRussa did.

The Cubs just hired a hitting coach who had a .256 lifetime batting average... ...in the minor leagues.
