I asked that very same a la carte question of a Dish rep on the phone last weekend . . .she said "I don't know". I also said I'd be willing to pay a bit more/month for BTN . . .she gave me the (apparently standard) $10/month off my bill for the next year and offered me the sports pkg free for 6...

I got an email from DishNW last week offering me a Multi-Sport pkg that include BTN HD . . .so are they really dropping it or do they just want to make us buy an extra pkg to get it?? The pkg is $9/month regular price and includes NFL RedZone, NFL, MLB, NHL, Strike Zone, Fuel, Fox Soccer...

It was such a fun day for a great cause! About 56 players + the coaching staff volunteered to teach 400 girls more about football on a 90-degree day. I learned I really suck at kicking :( but it was totally cool to get the opportunity to see the Hawkeye locker room and be on the field at Kinnick...

My husband actually emailed ABC/ESPN and asked them that very question. The response he got back was totally idiotic. Something like (and I'm paraphrasing) . . . Pre-emptive programming happens in sporting events more than any other type of programming. The Iowa-Penn State football game...
