Good....thanks for the correction....passing should be do-able, which may or may not help Iowa...or NW.

Next step for Iowa men's program? Winning close games

Two years ago, we had Gatens on the court and he knocked down many huge shots for us in games that were close. Matt had a fantastic senior season, and was the reason that we upset IU, Wisky, etc. We did not really replace him the last two seasons with a knock-down shooter from the arc.

Going to see Wadley this week?

He is almost a clone of Parker, which is a good thing. Small, but very quick and fast. Little stronger than Parker...maybe. I like the notion of getting Parker and Wadley to the edge vs NW...they never expect Iowa to be able to match their speed and we might surprise them.

    Iowa-Nortwestern prediction thread

With cold windy weather( just like last year) but worse offenses this year, I see another tight contest on Saturday. Iowa 14 NW 13 . Iowa wins but does not cover. I will embrace the win like my first new-born.

Miller and Deace buried the Iowa program,

I agree that October has been a long painful month for Iowa football, with only two games to break the non-stop negativity from some fans. All this time to kvetch does not help the situation. Thankfully, starting tomorrow, we have 5 weeks of games to examine...good or bad. I can only hope that...

It begins....Brandon out at Michigan...next up?

Brady Hoke's hold on the Wolverine football job just got more tenuous...in fact, I think this means he is 100% gone. Brandon was an impediment to Michigan hiring Harbaugh.....could that happen now? It will be interesting times in Ann Arbor the next two months.

Next step for Iowa men's program? Winning close games

Actually in one article they noted that Iowa is 2-13 over the last two seasons in games decided by less than 5 pts. They were like 2-5 in the year before last and 0- 6 last year. So, it is a two year trend, at least...not sure about 3 years ago, but I believe they have struggled in close games...

    Any word on Whitey's progression?

Coincidentally, CBS College bb staff has placed Whitey at #59 overall in college ranks this year. Close.

Both teams have had 2 weeks to prepare for each other

Then why did the Tribune report that they were returning to practice this week? Shuler had a serious neck injury, they thought and he was carried off during the Neb. game. The others have had injuries that kept them out of practice last week. Greenstein, beat writer for the Trib, says they are...

    Any word on Whitey's progression?

Fran says that Aaron is playing well, and adjusting well to his new position. I really would not expect much of his game to change...he is not going to become a great outside shooter as a senior. But, he can have a big year at the power forward position, doing what he does...and having senior...

Both teams have had 2 weeks to prepare for each other

This benefits NW more...they are getting Vitale, Prater, and Shuler back from injuries....and they desperately need receivers. Meanwhile, Iowa has lost Daniels, and Willies and Canzeri has not recovered, so advantage NW. They can beat Iowa, and they know it. Look for a brutal game...close win...

    Morehouse's musings

I heard Dolph yesterday on BTN Live as the Iowa reporter in the ''Around the Big Ten '' segment. They asked why the running game is not good, and he immediately blamed the lack of a deep passing game.....that does not sound like Baghdad Bob, but a truth-teller who has Eddie Podolak reciting...

    The Fans' Answer

I guess I am not so sensitive to all these abrasive comments by KF to the fan base.....he is a football coach not Gandi. I hear him always thank the fans in every post-game presser.....but maybe that is insulting to some fans? As for the administration...never heard him attack them, but maybe...

View of HN is quite funny.

I remember how some fans demanded that SA be fired...and when he finally left, they rejoiced as Iowa hired COY Lick....and Iowa has not had a winning league record since SA's last season....7 years ago....but hey, we are Iowa, where we absolutely know that the next coach is our savior. Bad...

    Thoughts for jNW

NW is getting healthy....with Vitale and a couple others back practicing. Shuler is back. NW has missed their WR's all season, so this does not bode well for Iowa. Jackson is a stud at rb. Simeian is healthier than he has been since week 2. Everything is lining up for a tough day for the...

    Suck for Luck mentality

Never will root against Iowa altho I admit that I was starting to think that way with Lick. If Iowa squeaks out 5 consecutive one point wins and takes the West, I will be estatic.....not into style points like some on here...just Win! Clearly for some, if KF wins ugly, not good enough....but...

Utah had losing seasons the last two years.....so they finally have a good season and now they are golden? KSU has 35 jucos on their roster....Iowa does not allow anyone with a pulse to be admitted, like at KSt. Nebraska has the 6th most wins in college football history....Iowa is probably 66...

Maybe we should hire 4 millon dollar man Charlie Weis...the genius behind Patriot super bowls? Or Brady Hoke? ND and Michigan are way below Iowa level....of course.

View of HN is quite funny.

I can accept criticism of KF when he loses games...I do it also. But, some of these posters never relent, even when we win, and say anything positive about KF or the program. We land a nice rb recruit last nite, and the cynics snicker with glee, predicting he will never play or will...
