    College GameDay Returning to Ames

My seats in Ames are typically right by where the opposing band is if they bring one. I kind of like it but I get it's not for everybody, it can get a little loud and cacophonous when both bands are playing and everybody is yelling and the speakers are going, etc. Iowa band notified all road...

Who else isn't sold on Petras still?

I didn't watch Iowa's game on Saturday, but I listened to Jeff Woody who is a former ISU player who does some podcasts and he thought Petras played well on Saturday. He certainly wasn't critical of him at all and thought he did exactly what he should have been doing.

    Iowa +3.5 Who ya got?

Iowa has a great defense, I think that's pretty much a given. Fantastic last year and returns a lot of talent. I don't think there will be a ton of pressure on Purdy in this game however, because I think they'll get the ball out quick. ISU quarterbacks have 3 turnovers (Zeb Noland fumble 2018...

    Iowa +3.5 Who ya got?

All of that's certainly possible, and it's something both teams should be looking to right now, but I don't think it's particularly probable. That's all. If either team wins this game and ends the season 11-1 it will be a huge victory, along with all of the others.

Is Northern Iowa supposed to be really good, good, just average??

Maryland changes stuff all the time being the UA school with some pretty terrible combos and got a big 10 invite. It’s almost like that has nothing to do with it.

    Initial Game thoughts

your post said “when, if ever”. 22 guys averaged over that amount just last year.

    Initial Game thoughts

It happens pretty often actually and not just in air raid offenses. Purdy completed 80% of his passes on Saturday and has a career 66.5% completion %, and no offense but people around here think he's not that good.

    Initial Game thoughts

Maybe. ISU generally comes out in a pretty base set on defense especially at the beginning of the game with very little blitzing. I think they like to see if they can stop the run with the 3 down before they start making any changes. At least for the first quarter I bet it will be very vanilla.

    Iowa +3.5 Who ya got?

Yeah, it's certainly more interesting when both teams are good and the games have been very good college football games the last few years which has been a lot of fun. But ultimately I don't think either team will be competing for the playoff so it doesn't have big implications either way.

    Iowa +3.5 Who ya got?

I think there is a lot wrong with this post, no offense. ISU isn't a pass happy team. Last year ISU QB's threw 372 passes, and there were 446 rushing attempts, so they basically ran 54.5% of the time. Iowa ran it 53.7% of the time last year. The Big 12 really isn't as pass focused as it has...

Is Northern Iowa supposed to be really good, good, just average??

UNI isn't that good and there is no excuse for not beating them worse. Just is what it is.

Nope. Let's be honest - there are two leagues that are going to command dollars, that's the SEC and the Big 10. Everybody else is going to be lagging behind significantly. My hot take is think the new Big 12 deal will be on par with what the PAC 12 and the ACC get.

This is false now - they hired like several football production guys and they are taking over the NFL on Thursday production. They will be in production of games, it's just a matter of how much they expand.

It can't be any of the existing players. CBS or NBC or whatever can't be the one to roll in because you're right, they aren't going to pay enough. It has to be a streamer. Amazon I think is the only one who makes sense because they are the only one that seems to be interested sports.

Yeah, I think this conference would be pretty competitive. I think it solidifies the Big 10 and SEC as the two premier conferences in the country and everybody else is somewhere below them. The new Big 12 would lack a headliner and unfortunately those schools drive a lot of the TV revenue. I...

    College GameDay Returning to Ames

Should be fun, although with everything happening between the Big 12 and ESPN right now I think the excitement level among fans is pretty low to have Gameday back. The scenes from last time of people swarmed around the stage I don't think will happen at all. Good luck this week. As far as who...

    Hawaii vs UCLA

It was empty. The only reason the Pac12 is safe as a conference is because they are geographically isolated.

FYI lots of rumors College Gameday will be back in Ames if we both win Navy-Air Force was picked up by CBS and CBS will be on location so it probably doesn't work now for Gameday.

    Imagine This Scenario

As an ISU fan in the short term I'm concerned about Michigan and Penn State, because I think Franklin could be moving on after this year. Michigan especially I think would fit him well just because I think his style of play would fit well with what they had success with Carr and Bo for so many...
