    About UCLA

Interceptions explain a lot of it. That, and Brosmer had a decent day throwing the ball.

    Iowa in CFP???

    Um, no.

    QB position got thin quick

Lainez is rumored to be out due to injury. That's probably why he isn't #2 on the depth chart this week.

This is correct. I trust Tim Lester on this move. Hard to paint a broad brush and say that because previous staff members didn't recruit or develop the position well then assume that Lester can't. TL obviously came to the conclusion that this guy wasn't going to see the field, probably ever...

I say this with all due respect but I still trust a D-1 Power 4 football staff to evaluate a QB's skills over yours. They see the kid every day. Your evaluation of his HS tape can't compare. Not trying to be a DB but calling this as I see it.

I applaud the staff for knowing when to cut bait and not trying to force something that isn't there. Would you rather keep him there and be ineffective so fans could complain more?

Why would you want to try to fit a square peg into a round hole? The staff and probably the kid himself recognized that he didn't have the tools to play Power 4 quarterback. He has good size, speed and athleticism so they thought he would be a better fit at WR. Marvin McNutt made the same...

Keith Murphy's interview with Chris Doyle

One of the things that the Black players resented was that they weren't allowed to be "themselves", i.e. couldn't wear hoodies, were not allowed to have the music on that they wanted to hear etc. Things like that. Cultural differences that were not respected.

    Thanks Captain Kirk

This. Hard to explain but we have to remember that these are still kids. With all of our experience, they are subject to letdowns and that seemed to happen against MSU. Maybe feeling too good about themselves after the Washington game and thought it would be smooth sailing against a young...

    If you have any doubts…

I wonder how KF will navigate the end of his tenure because, he is on record as telling recruits that he is going to be around for their entire 4 years. Coaches make promises like that all the time and break them just as easily. But Ferentz is probably one of the more honest coaches in the...

    Iowa-Washington Preview, Prediction

Cool story and I didn't know that. I've always liked him as a play-by-play announcer. This makes me root for the guy even more.

2 RBs in 1000 yard club in RB position room

Not sure. I've read that his injury was with his hamstring. Those soft muscle issues can take a long to heal. And it's very easy to come back too soon and reinjure it.

    Minnesota Game

The easy answer is that penalties aren't reviewable. That's also the wrong answer. I heard an interesting take yesterday from Danny Kanell on his morning radio show. He compared the onside kick to a turnover. All turnovers are reviewable. He made the point, and I agree, that this is just...

    Iowa at OSU 2024

This is pretty much where I am at. I work with an Ohio State alum and I told him the other day that my hope is that we keep it somewhat competitive and just don't get blown out like two years ago. Maybe they are looking ahead to Oregon the following week?

    Week 5 Bye week thread

I heard them say that and laughed. Packed, except for all of the seats that were empty. To be fair, it looked like a good crowd, probably 80-90% capacity. But not packed.

    State of passing game

I think they said during the broadcast that he and the other safety were both filling in for injured starters.

    State of passing game

I think both deserve credit. KJ has made some fantastic runs, some when there was nothing there. He has also benefited from some very good outside zone blocking that, to me, is much improved over last year.

    Did he drop the ball?

Nothing drives me more crazy than when I see this happen. Especially when it's the Hawks but just in general. You see this way too much.
