    Biggest Upset of the Season?

Iowa over Norther Illinois. How did they ever win that game?

Let's rally around our beloved coach, Kirk Ferentz!

I'm hoping this is a joke, but if it's not......on what planet is 8 or 9 wins good enough? Start scheduling some real non-conference foes and it will make the 7 or 8 win seasons pallatable. Eventually you'll be able to recruit well enough to field a 10 or 11 win team. Keep playing cupcakes...

    NIT apparel?

Any place selling any? Or is there just no market for it?

    Future Football Schedules

Does anyone know if we had an opponent fall through scheduling wise the couple of years? Otherwise it is hard to explain why our non-conference scheduling is so incredibly soft. I think it would do a lot for the program to schedule some tougher games to gain more national prominence. At the...

I WAS getting worried about this season but....

That is something I know isn't true. People get so wound up when someone says something they don't want to hear. A guy who has coached high school basketball for a long time, a guy who has sent players to Division I programs, a guy who has coached against many of the stars who have come...

I WAS getting worried about this season but....

Oh yeah, I forgot we aren't supposed to call in to question anything Hawkeye at all. I'll toe the line from now on. Give me a break.

God that was possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read.....

I WAS getting excited about this season but...

I'll be the first person to come back on here and say I was wrong when this crew starts running people off the court, jumping out of the gym, and it wins at 8 Big Ten games. I've got no problem doing that. Like the poster mentioned before, for Fran's style of play we need athletes, or else...

It's ok to say Ferentz needs to go...

I actually do run a successful business, thanks. Part of running a successful business is knowing when changes are needed. KF obviously doesn't believe in this philosophy, therefore we continue to lose games in the same fashion we lost them six years ago.

It's ok to say Ferentz needs to go...

And still appreciate what he has done for the program in the past. I don't think it's a good idea to stay in any position for too long, not matter what line of work you are in. A fresh start would not only be good for the program which has hit a plateau. I also think it would be good for...

I WAS getting excited about this season but...

The point was that they weren't very skilled either. If you aren't athletic you have to make it up with an abundance of technical skill that this team lacks as well.

I WAS getting excited about this season but...

Totally agreed. I just hope we can get back to the point where when we go on the road we have a chance to win games.

I WAS getting excited about this season but...

I was beginning to get cautiously optimistic about the upcoming season, but then I talked to a high school coach I know who sat in on a couple Iowa practices a week or so ago. He told me that the team looks extremely slow and unathletic compared to other teams he has seen. Not that this...

    Iowa's Final Possession

It's just maddening because you know that if the situation were opposite and Iowa was on defense there, the other team would move the ball with ease down the field. The Hawks couldn't complete one pass, and two throws that were made were only about 5 yards.

    Iowa's Final Possession

I think the play calling is even more questionable when you consider Davis wasn't playing. Your options of who can make plays is even more limited. Minnesota was going to let you run in that situation, and they couldn't stop it even if they tried. Not saying I'm not appreciative of what KF...

    Iowa's Final Possession

I think the decision to run the plays they did further goes to this staff's inability to handle coaching in close games late. In reality going 5-wide flies in the face of what they believe in, which is the whole "stay the course" idea. If they had just thought about it for a second, I think...

    Iowa's Final Possession

I agree with BlackHawk here, there was enough time to get down field and at least give Meyer a shot, although he'd been struggling all day so who knows. Going to some spread shotgun look was way too early at that point.

    Iowa's Final Possession

I just think you have to at least represent you might run the ball. In my opinion I don't believe we go 3 and out there if we do. Again, I think everyone had to know this was our last possession of the game. That type of play calling to me was if you some last ditch effort with about 30...

    Iowa's Final Possession

Forgive me if this has been already discussed, but did anyone else think it was nuts that Ferentz and O'Keefe just went in to an empty backfield shotgun formation immediately. They only had one timeout left at that point with less than 3 minutes to go. Especially with how poorly the defense...
