Brown: Rededicated Clemmons bringing the hustle

It is funny to me that people think just because clemmons is starting that gesell must be shifted over to the 2. Clemmons is the 2 and it seems to fit his game better. He is better both offensively and defensively off the ball as he seems more under control on offense and his defensive skills...

    Clemmons is a BALLER

Gesell is pg and clemmons is 2 guard. Fran has even said it. Plus gesell initiates the offense...that is what pgs do. i thought jok would be our best 2 but clemmons has really taken to the move and looks like it fits his game more on offense and defense. He is a poor on ball defender but really...

Time to Start a Mobile QB Who Can Use His Legs

When players say the back up is better then they are saying the coach is playing the worse player. Since he chooses the players they are saying he is intentionally playing a worse player because he likes the kid more. Yet I believe djk was not kf's favorite yet he still played.

Reality Check - the whole team got dismantled

That isn't going to be fixed by benching one player. I am not saying beathard should or shouldn't play. But will his playing fix the oline struggles? No. Will it fix the problem the dline and lbs had with stopping the run? No. Will it change the fact that the Dbs couldn't find the receivers in...

Time to Start a Mobile QB Who Can Use His Legs

Do people know that the weakness of the oline is one of the reasons jc got the nod. He was more mobile than stanzi and they knew they needed the mobility. Yet he still got sacked like 50 times. Switching won't ensure victory or better results. In fact the limited amount we have seen beathard...

I can't stand conspiracy talk...it makes me think of ISU fans.

The people ready for Weisman to move on

When linemen are covered up the zone scheme looks a lot like man. Watch their initial step and you can see the linemen all go laterally to play side. This is an indication of zone. Because the FB goes play side it has to be outside zone or stretch. Since the rb and fb aim for the te it is...

The people ready for Weisman to move on

All 3 TDs were outside zones when I rewatched. I could have been mistaken but looked very much like it. I know it is only 3 but most of his best runs all day came from the oz.

    Another awesome breakdown by HGF

Pin and pull outside zone was referenced by hgf. I do know what I am talking about (makes me feel good to have that).

The people ready for Weisman to move on

2/3 of nfl teams carry FBs on their rosters and a few carry 2. But TEs have been taking over the role of FB more and more. Some of the more productive offenses don't carry FBs. Like New England, Arizona, and Denver. Ray Hamilton has better chances than mark even though he has been far less...

The people ready for Weisman to move on

Last I checked there are less and less teams carrying "true" FBs on their rosters. Most teams are using back up tight ends to man the spot when they use them. Could mark Weisman make a team...yes. But to do that even if every team carries a FB he would need to be one of the 32 best in the nfl...

    OLine Shuffle

http://usafootball.com/blogs/fundamentals-and-performance/post/9325/miami-dolphins-demonstrate-zone-blocking-pin-and-pull-drillThe video on the web page shows the pin and pull technique. I might have described it wrong but what I thought it looked like is the same (words might have been put...

    play calling rumors

He had high powered offenses but the myth is wrong...he ran a pro style offense. You see a lot of I formation in the video.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4fsDIijcAkgIf you skip the interviews and go to the 7:00 min mark you will see a good idea of their offense.

    OLine Shuffle

There are multiple zone schemes. Some use pulling linemen. One of those and the most common after the basic zone scheme is the pin and pull which has uncovered linemen pull play side. So it doesn't mean they were running more man blocking they could have used more secondary zone schemes.

    Alternate Tigerhawk

I actually like the more subtle things over the overt things. Sometimes it looks like teams are trying to say look at me look at me we are honoring the troops. I think when you see the subtle things (at least for me) I look more closely at them and then think about them more. I like what iowa...

    OLine Shuffle

Blythe played guard (again). He has since Walsh went down. They have discovered that our best oline has him at guard and Gaul at center. Gaul isn't as good as Blythe at center but he is a lower downgrade at center than Walsh or welsh is compared to Blythe at guard. the problem shaped out like...

The people ready for Weisman to move on

He isn't better at reading blocks than the others. If he was he would get more big gains than he does. He is a little below average in that department. What makes up for that is that he is hard to bring down. He is a bigger version of Adam robinson (though Adam read blocks better) he gets hit...

    play calling rumors

I get that he doesn't have the strongest arm but it is strong enough and gets the job done. The flea flicker was more on the rb as the rb made a terrible toss back to him and made it tougher on Jake. 3 passes of over 30 yd completions...I don't care if the wr had to slow down a little as that...
