The side ref was consistently spotting Iowa a foot to even a full yard short (Smith hurdle). In a one point game, obviously ever inch matters. That’s football. Winners don’t whine about it and write letters to the conference, they keep playing.
The list of things in ISUs favor yesterday was huge, Iowa played ugly, and they still won. Don’t blame everyone else if you can’t find happiness out of that.
I will sleep well knowing that Purdy tripped on a divot left by ISU students running on the field, losing 5 yards on a crucial play. I don’t care if it’s true or not.
I’m fascinated by how many Hawkeye fans still don’t understand Iowa football. Last night was about as perfect an “Iowa way” first game as can be. Decent opponent that we just lean on for 40 minutes and they eventually fall over the last 20.
Stanley missed some throws, and made others. He’s been...
What game were you watching? Gabbert got the ball out in 3 seconds or less on all but 2 throws. On those 2 throws, the only reason it was more than 3 seconds is because he was forced out of the pocket and hit as he threw it.
If you expect a pass rush to get to a QB in 2 seconds with a few 300...
My only prediction is that by game 4 or 5, Purdy will go the way of every other QB savior at ISU and will be either hurt or benched.
Nothing in life is certain, other than death, taxes, and hyped ISU QBs falling apart.
