    Iowa #2 AP

So you're saying that a true playoff bracket for FBS is too much for these young men? What about the FCS who play a 24 team bracket to a champion (usually about the same time as the FBS National Championship game)? Or how about the 28 teams in the Division II football bracket? Or the 32 Division...

Nebraska the little engine that could not

Frost looked like he was about to burst out in tears as he walked off the field.

    Who needs offense

On a different note, CryFan is losing its mind over how they are so much better and how Iowa is maybe a top 15 team and how Iowa is the luckiest team ever. https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/iowa-vs-penn-state.266554/

Or at least stay out until a change of possession.

Sorry if this has been asked? chances of game day for Penn State be Iowa?

That's a quote from the movie "RepliKate".

Are you going to the game?

I'll be watching from my living room. A toe amputation earlier this year still has me in a boot and I can't put any weight on that foot. If I had my way I'd go to the Coe-Central game in CR (and go to Sykora's Bakery after!).

    Iowa/Penn St Predictions

Iowa 41 Penn St. 17. Iowa's offense is better than it was last year. Our defense and special teams have been top flight, way better than last year. And we did beat them 41-21 last year at their place.

    OT: Dan Bernstein

McMahon had a QB rating of 80.4 while at Chicago. Harbaugh had a QB rating of 74.2 while at Chicago. Wouldn't call either of them "pretty good". They were adequate.

At this point, 2 games that give me the most concern for the rest of this regular season

Yeah. I think jNW and Kansas would be a close game.

Urban Meyer caught cheating on his wife

So he's using his hands to keep her off the excess skin on his elbow and upper arm?

Is this the Best QB so far?

No personnel changes? Really? Of our top 15 tacklers on defense: 7 are defensive linemen 3 are linebackers (the three top tacklers) 5 are defensive backs I'd hardly say that we don't change personnel, especially on the D-line.

Is this the Best QB so far?

How many of those 36 completions have 15+ yards of run-after-catch? They don't really track that stat as well.

Offensive Line, A Work in Progress

I'm 6'7". You can at least go into Walmart, Target, etc. and buy clothes that fit. You don't have to worry about banging your head on the interior door transoms (interior doors are 6'6" minus the door stop trim). You don't have to worry about your feet (in my case foot) hanging over the edge of...

    Give me your best plays

To those of you who think all we do is run on first down, here's a breakdown of all the first downs in all of our games. (Compiled from the play-by-play tab on ESPN) Iowa first downs vs. Indiana First half: 8 runs, 7 passes Second half: 7 runs, 5 passes Iowa first downs vs. Iowa St. First...

    BIG TEN TONIGHT

While you are correct, one thing you forgot to mention was that KSU had two TD's called back on what even the announcers called phantom holding calls. Would have made the game a lot more interesting, eh?

Odds & Trends: Colorado State at Iowa

True. McBride has more receptions (30) than the next seven receivers combined. But LaPorta has 13 receptions and the next two have a total of 16 receptions. Iowa tends to throw to more receivers, it just seems like LaPorta has a lot more.

Minimum points required to win each Iowa game

In 1974, my freshman year, Wartburg beat Simpson 5-2. That same year we lost to Upper Iowa 7-3. In 1976, we beat Luther 3-0 on a wind-aided 40+ yard field goal. Got used to low scoring games. The bonus was I lived in Clinton Hall and my room overlooked the football field, so I didn't need to...

    Kent St Brought The Wood.

Wait, what? The backup QB, Calzada, threw one pass and it was intercepted. Their starting QB, King, had 3 interceptions. I'd hardly call that "snaps and passes". Yeah, they got about 600 yards in offense but a lot of that was negated with the 4 interceptions and the fumble they had - or did you...

    Passing game issues

In order to throw the ball deep, your line has to sustain blocks for at least 4 seconds. We may well get there as the season develops but right now we can't depend upon that, even for one play. Even with ISM, we didn't take many shots downfield until at least the 4th or 5th game of the season...

    Iowa-Kent State Stat

Well, TAMU didn't punt, which means they scored on every possession, and they had 2 interceptions of their own, one of which was returned for a TD.
